Senior Project Engineer (June 2012 to present)

Construction manager for PepsiCo (Gatorade Dallas) installed a 35 million dollar hot fill production line on time and on budget.

I have managed projects for upgrading the ammonia refrigeration systems or a complete conversion to ammonia to glycol system refrigeration system. Project cost management approximately 5 million.

Work completed at the following locations: Coke Cola Refreshment – El Paso TX.; Pepsi Bottling – Abilene TX.; Collierville TN.; Riviera Beach FL.; Knoxville TN.; Detroit MI.; and Atlanta GA.; this included defining the scope of work, review vendor proposals to insure the work to be completed was in compliance with ASHRAE15, IIAR2 ammonia system regulations and the vendors standards replacement and demo standards.

PEPSI BEVERAGE COMPANY – PACKAGING FACILITY, ORLANDO, FL

Increased line efficiency on the bottle lines by 10 percent over the 100 days of summer.

COORS BREWING COMPANY, 1984-2007

Brewing and Packaging Facility, Memphis, TN

Project Manager / Optimization Engineer - Bottle Line Redesign: Led a cross-functional team whose objective was to increase line flexibility and reliability to enable different brand and pack types to be produced simultaneously.

Reduced total line head count by 50 percent.

Maintained all safety and quality objectives throughout entire project.

Utilized Lean Manufacturing, Total Production Maintenance (TPM) and Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) techniques and reduced changeovers and ramp-ups resulting in an increased line productivity of 68 percent.

Reduced changeover time from plastic bottles to glass from 16 hours to 3 hours. Total cost savings of $3 million annually.

Brewing and Packaging Facility, Shenandoah, VA

Can Line Start-up and Ramp:

Trained line personnel in set up time reduction techniques and autonomous maintenance tasks.

Managed trouble shooting of mechanical and control issues during startup.

Developed and documented work instructions for process sustainability.

Brought up high speed changeover line six months ahead of schedule, providing early closure of another more costly facility. Total cost savings of $12 million.

Can Lines Output Increase:

Incorporated a cross functional team to develop and administer innovative solutions to increase line productivity.

Exercised lean manufacturing and TPM techniques to increase production efficiency for a 20 year old line by 88 percent.

Additional output from the line avoided the necessity of an additional crew. Total cost savings of $1 million annually.

Production Capacity Manager (1999 2002)

Led the development and implementation of the Packaging Line Capacity Model.

Managed and defined required data elements including data relationships, required reporting, database maintenance, data input, analysis and reporting to be utilized in the Capacity Model.

Rapidly and accurately evaluated packaging production plans to determine feasibility.

Corporate Environmental Control Manager (1997 1999)

Negotiated with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Colorado Department of Health (CDH) for removing Coors from the Primary Responsible Party (PRP) statutes in two separate Superfund Actions. - Total cost avoidance into the multi-million dollar range.

Developed numerous cost savings and reduction initiatives that over 10 years reduced the total volume of hazardous waste from 600 tons annually to 13 tons annually for a total reduction of 97.8 percent. - Total cost savings of 4.5 million dollars annually.

Plant Environmental Coordinator (1995 1997)

Aligned environmental and business objectives by developing and presenting a business case that justified the purchase and installation of an up flow anaerobic digester. - Total cost savings of 1 million dollars annually.

Hazardous Waste Specialist (1992 1995)

Ensured compliance with all provisions of the RCRA Part B permit relating to the operation of the Coors treatment storage and disposal facility.

Compiled and analyzed data required for Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), SARA 312 and 313, and Colorado Department of Health & Environment (CDPHE) requirements.
