Professional Experience

Lydall Industrial Filtration – Shanghai, China August 2015 – Current

Asia Pacific business unit of Lydall Specialty Enginnered Products and Materials of Manchester, CT. In Asia there are 3 sites and 190 employees. With revenue of over $30 million, Lydall China is a leader in the industrial filtration industry. With growth by acquisition and organic business growth the Technical Nonwovens SBU of Lydall in Asia is the largest manufacturer of nonwoven textiles for air filtration.

General Manager – China ( August 2015 – Current)

Oversee all aspects of the Asia Pacific business. Brought in to manage a turn around. Dire attention needed to profit margins, inventory, staffing, manufacturing efficiencies, and working capital management. With a longer term plan to consolidate four sites into one site.

Immediately reduced raw material and finished goods inventory levels allowing the operation to vacate one large warehouse for a savings $50,000 annually. Liberating over $500,000 in working capital

Implemented better AR recovery plans to reduce outstanding AR by $1.5 million USD in first 6 months averting a need for a capital infusion from headquarters.

Implemented new systems driven pricing and quoting system to protect and increase margins. Led the sales team to focus on value selling and less of a price cutting approach to sales while incentivizing the sales force to get the commodity and large volume orders to increase plant utilization.

Succesffuly oversaw the addition of $6 million USD annually in high margin automotive products for export to North America. Entailing capital spending projects, achieving automotive supplier audit success and approvals. Project will grow to $10 million USD in 2017.

Reduced head count in 2016 by 18% to eliminate excess cost in the organization and right size the capacity to fit current market conditions.

Recently began integration of a new production site and an additional 60 employees acquired bu acquisition.

Consolidation project underway and expected to complete in late 2018. With 2 sites in the the Shanghai area and two sites in the Jiangsu Province there is an opportunity to consolidate at one site outside of Shanghai. This will create more savings on fixed overhead, logisitics, as well as streamline manufacturing.

Chinese business unit of the Tnemec Corporation, from Kansas City, MO. $200M privately held specialty coatings company with 250 employees worldwide. Market leader in specialty coatings for the concrete and steel market segments. Tnemec is recognized as a world leader in performance coatings and is routinely specified by the largest engineering and architecture firms in the world for high visibility projects needing the best protection available.

Vice President– Asia Pacific(January 2013 to September 2014)

Oversee all aspects of Asia Pacific business, ensuring sustainable and profitable business growth as both Technical Director and Quality Director.

Negotiated, trained and added two additional distributors to increase sales coverage in China.

Vice President and Managing Director – Asia Pacific(2008 – 2013)

Oversee all aspects of Asia Pacific business, ensuring sustainable and profitable business growthas both Technical Director and Quality Director.
