Assisted in planning, layout, and installation of various electrical systems including
power, lighting, HVAC, and entertainment systems. Troubleshoot and repair or replace
various parts and components as needed. Managed the winter storage battery
maintenance program categorizing each boat with its own type of battery system (lead
acid, gel, dry cell) and it own particular charging and maintenance requirements.

Worked as a marine electrician. I performed in various phases of shipboard construction
of small cruise ships for American Canadian Caribbean Cruise Lines (ACCCL)
beginning with layout, fabricating, and installing initial wireways. My duties included
planning and coordinating with other trades in order to facilitate an orderly and efficient
installation of various systems (electrical, piping, etc). Also participated in running main
power, lighting, engine, and machinery control and alarm warning systems. I participated
in sea trials where I performed various engine room and machinery space watches.
RE Derecktor Shipyard of RI 1985-1991

Worked as a marine electrician with cable crew installing main shipboard power
including securing and banding cables and packing watertight transits and swage tubes
during the construction of USCG WMEC270 class cutters 905 through 913. Was
transferred to the electrical testing department where I performed insulation, resistance,
and continuity (I,R and C) tests on cables related to the machinery plant control and
monitoring systems (MPCMS) and troubleshot and repaired or replaced items as
necessary. I also calibrated, tested, troubleshot various components of the tank level
indicating system (TLI). These tests were done under the supervision of the USCG
inspecting officer staff. Items were accepted and signed off only after they were shown to
be working properly and to the satisfaction of the Coast Guard inspectors. I also
participated in sea trials (normally 2-3 days) where I performed engine watches.

manufacturing plant. Duties included taking inventory of incoming and outgoing
materials and machinery maintenance.

Assigned to Attack Squadron 12 as an organizational level A7-E electrical technician.
Duties included maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, electro-hydraulic
and flight instrumentation systems while deployed with carrier Airwing 7 aboard USS
Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) in the Indian Ocean (1980) and Mediterranean Sea
(1982). Collateral duties included assistance night shift supervisor and tool control petty
officer. Honorably discharged with Navy Good Conduct Medal.
