As Controller for this small manufacturer my responsibilities included Staff Accountant and HR Manger. I performed all accounting duties through monthly financial statements. As HR Manager I identified the need and implemented an employee cross training program for “CSR” staff and supporting departments. I also organized the health and safety awareness to include Wellness classes for all staff. Physically reorganized the work areas of some departments to provide OSHA safety regulations compliance and improve productivity and a more professional working environment. I was the only full time management staff for all work areas including but not limited to the warehouse and delivery staff. This employer has two service corporations, one “Not for Profit (501c 6)” and one “Non-Profit (501c 9)” and I was soley responsible for all accounting duties to include financial statements, budget forecasting and reporting, event cost accounting and served as the financial liaison to two separate Board of Directors and Board of Trustees. Additionally, I was responsible for all personnel and Human Resources processing and administration. Other job performances outside the normal accounting environment of A/R, A/P, P/R and tax returns, I also prepared and processed documentation including the Federal application (1024) for the Trust corporation. Prepared a multi-million dollar federal grant for the Not for Profit service corporation as well as the setup and conversion of their “cash reporting” system to the “accrual reporting” system recommended by federal and state agencies.
The HR duties included responsibility for all ACA annual filings in regard to personnel benefits and the preparation and filing of contributions for 401K retirement benefits and the annual 5500 tax return. In addition to accounting and human resource duties, I assisted in the association’s three annual company sponsored events to include organization and physical setup and tear down of the events. There were various duties assigned to all employees.
