KEY SKILLS THAT YOU WILL GAIN BY HIRING ME:
Conscientiousness – I’m very in tune to a RN’s scope of skills and am mindful not to overstep boundaries. I exhibit a positive attitude and purposefully keep my demeanor a positive so patients are less likely to become anxious around me.
Dependability – I am prompt with my schedule and am where I need to be when I am expected to be there.
Versatility – recent RN positions have required a heavy amount of travel between sites. Those positions also required overseeing upwards of 30 employees and managing care for 30-50 assigned individuals including more if covering a day hab.
Personal Responsibilities – It was expected that I would monitor staff’s actions and behavior they exhibited towards our individuals. I was responsible to certify all staff at my sites to safely pass medications per policy. In addition to planning care for those 30-50 individuals, and monitoring the staff, I was also expected to initiate all communication between myself, staff, hospitals, clinicians and management up to the top.
Resourcefulness – I consider myself to exhibit great resourcefulness on the job. I typically do my own research. I know the how-to’s on giving or receiving important medical information. I am capable of initiating cold-calls and growing professional relationships with key people involved in an individual’s care.
Motivation – I have spent a lot of time advocating for my patients, as well for their families. I believe it takes a special skill to call a stranger to discuss private, medical conditions or needs for their loved ones. I only give facts and am conscious not to over-step boundaries.
Advocacy for individuals is my top priority. When I am caring for individuals I treat them all equally regardless of whom they are and what the condition or situation is. I believe all individuals deserve the same treatment and respect that anyone else in the community would receive.
