EXPERIENCE

Central Florida Legal Services 1999-2000

I was assigned to be the attorney for the family law division of this Volusia County legal aid office. Starting with interviewing clients that had been victims of domestic violence, proceeding with civil Injunctions for Protection against domestic violence bench trials and often culminating in dissolution of marriage cases, I was assigned as the associate attorney that would handle this type of cases. I also did have the opportunity to learn and participate in cases dealing with landlord tenant and elderly abuse cases.

Pines Law Center 2000-2001

As an associate attorney I worked directly under the managing attorney and represented clients in a variety of disputes that ranged from collections matters to sealing criminal records. I also brought in clients and cases to the firm for representation. This allowed me to learn about matters such as wrongful termination of employment and unpaid wages while still giving me the liberty to continue practicing family law.

Pastor Andreu and Montes 2001-2002

As an associate attorney in a volume personal injury firm I was personally assigned over 800 cases and charged to make recommendations to the clients to settle and or proceed to trial. In addition I was responsible for settling over half a million dollars in attorney fees and costs alone. Though not responsible for the initial contact with the client, I was required to maintain the client’s accounts and proceed with their cases with an eye towards continuously gaining the clients trust.

Cadrecha & Fuenmayor 2002-2003

As a founding partner I was responsible for the litigation department of the firm of which I was the only attorney and supervised and managed staff. My responsibilities also extended from the regular litigation of cases to securing cases from existing clients and settlement of over a quarter of a million dollars in fees and costs for personal injury matters.

Fuenmayor Law Firm 2003-2005

As the founder and sole practitioner I was responsible for every aspect of all cases. This included not only obtaining clients but also complete litigation of their dispute. Although the majority of the clients I represented during this time were family law clients, I did have the opportunity to also procure a deal with other attorneys where I appeared on their behalf if they had a conflict arise for depositions or hearings. This allowed me to analyze cases regardless of their procedural status and prepare for matters in a short period of time as appearance was usually requested under significant time constraints.

Vazquez & Roberts 2005-2006

Initially hired to assist with title work in this mainly real estate firm, I was quickly assigned all civil and family cases that came into the firm. In addition due to the managing partner’s frequent travels, I was charged with supervising the staff in his absence. I was responsible for continuing relationships with clients, realtors and mortgage brokers after their closings in order to continue procuring title and litigation work for the firm.

Andrew Feldman P.A. 2006-2007

As the only associate attorney to Mr. Feldman, I was responsible for a significant part of the firm’s billing, representing clients in various civil and family litigation matters. I procured clients for the firm with domestic disputes mainly, but litigated any and all types of civil disputes. In addition I participated in drafting an appellate brief which I later argued in the Third District Court of Appeals. This position also gave me the opportunity to participate in a contested probate case and drafting private loan documentation.

Gonzalez & Associates 2008-present

Initially hired as mid-level associate attorney in this volume personal injury protection firm, I was assigned over 1500 cases for litigation and did only litigation until 2010. Thereafter I was considered a senior associate attorney and took on the managing of the litigation department for personal injury. I have litigated thousands of cases (which includes attending depositions, hearings, and trial,) simultaneously to managing the department which required being responsible for staff supervision, hiring and termination of employees, strategizing on cases that were assigned to Jr. and mid-level attorneys, as well as providing support when needed. In this position I have had the opportunity to manage over 20 people at any given time, and have gained invaluable experience in civil litigation.

EDUCATION

Florida State University 1992-1995

I was able to graduate with my Bachelors in Arts, to wit History, in three and a half years making me one of the youngest members of my graduating class.

St. Thomas University School of Law 1996-1999

I was able to attain my Juris Doctorate by the age of 23 after having the opportunity to intern with the State Attorney’s office in Miami Dade County for the last year of law school, where I was able to learn first hand to work in a fast paced environment.
