Patrol and respond to calls for police services at five separate sites: the Civic Center, County Court House, Public Safety Building, County Office Building, and State Office Building. Duties include patrolling these sites, handling disputes, disturbances and volatile situations, making arrests, safeguarding and securing court functions, employees and conducting investigations of any crime or suspicious activity.

Supervise uniform patrol officers to ensure compliance with department policies and procedures, conduct daily shift briefing apprising members of current events, investigations;
Issue oral or written orders to members as may be necessary to achieve maximum efficiency;
Evaluate and initiate the necessary adjustments ensuring maximum allocation of personnel in the area of high call volume;
Collect, evaluate and approve initial incident reports submitted by subordinates to ensure completeness, accuracy, clarity, timeliness and compliance with instructions;
Assure proper wearing of the prescribed uniform and associated equipment by all members;
Distribute to all members any information in official communications that require their understanding or action;
Observe members relationships with residents of the Oneida Indian Nation and their support of the community policing philosophy of the department;
Periodically inspect members on patrol or their duty assignment. Observe their driving habits, interaction with internal and external customers, initiative, judgment and attitude
Respond to and investigate all incidents/motor vehicle accidents involving department personnel or property;
Initiate communications with department members requesting utilization of sick time, make necessary adjustments to the duty schedule to facilitate sufficient patrol coverage of all Nation properties/establishments
Act as incident commander at all serious incidents until relieved by a commissioned officer of a higher rank;
Perform any and all duties of a uniform patrol officer and any other duties as required
