PROJECT DETAILS
Title: IMPLEMENTATION OF SMART PREPAID ENERGY METER USING GSM AND RFID
This project suggests a prepaid energy meter behaving like a prepaid mobile phone, which contains a prepaid card analogous to mobile SIM card. It can able to communicate with the power utility using mobile communication infrastructure. In case we failed to recharge through mobile communication, the amount can be credited using RFID reader. When the amount is less GSM informs as a message to the users mobile. Once the prepaid card is out of balance, the consumer load is disconnected from the utility supply by the relay.
Objective:
To reduce the power wastage and to reduce cost of manpower.
To centralize the billing process.
Future scope:
Recharging process can also be using debit card with the help of banking sector.
Indication can also be made available in a voice indicator.
