Position : Electrical Engineer (Maintenance).

Location : Al-Jubail, KSA.

Period : Jan 2013 – May 2016

Roles & Responsibilities:

Verifying the MV /LV switchgear Schematic Diagram.

Perform and supervise the testing of all electrical devices, grounding systems, Cable Insulation test and make sure it is acceptable to the proponent.

Checking the electrical installation Panels & Preparing punch list reports.

Monitoring everyday project progress and preparing the reports to submit for the senior management.

Supervision during the testing activities such like Megger tests and Winding Resistance of Induction Motors and Electrical Equipments.

Electrical Maintenance (Troubleshooting) of all machines such as Wire mesh welding machine (EVG), Re-bar and De-bar Poly-Cut Straightening machines (EVG), Stema Pedax (Stirrup) Machine, Epoxy Coating Machine for steel manufacturing.

Motor capacity ranges upto 325 K.W which are fitted with Frequency inverters.

Studying the drawing for foundation marking and fixing the machine as per the suppliers document.

Procuring the spares for accessories like chiller and compressor and connecting the pipeline to machine as per the required gpm for water and bar for air.

Calculating the load consumed by the machine during its starting and running time and designing the breakers and cables.

Arranging the power and control cables for the machine.

Estimating the consumption of cables and its length for the new installing machine.

Studying the electrical diagram and marking the cables for its connection.

Guiding the electricians regarding termination of cables in different locations on the machine.

Updating the proceedings of the project.

Running the machine to its full speed and recording the amps during its different loads.

Replacing Hydraulic Oil filters and Checking Accumulator for Cutting pressure approximately and fill nitrogen gas in accumulator if necessary. Also checking oil levels for the safety measures of the Hydraulic cylinders and Hydraulic systems for preventive maintenance.

Replacing contactors in the air compressor while damaging.

Providing proper guidance to the technicians for applying grease through fluid handling system in the greasing nipples provided on all machines and conveyer motors on time scheduled in preventive maintenance.

Machines Handling in Steel Pioneers Factory(GCC)

Evg ATT 10/102-RV/HS Welded Wire Mesh with capacity 175 cross wire /min.This machine is comprised of Lenze inverters, Siemens S7 PLC.The machine is fabricated with welding line of 36 plungers which can produce from 3.5 mm to 10 mm deformed, plain of hot rolled or cold rolled wires.The maximum length it can produce with 6 metre and width 2.75 metre.

The machine is divided into two sections as welding unit and drive unit.The welding unit is with 1000 Kva power (50%ED) with nominal voltage 400v/60 Hz and control voltage 230v/60 Hz,24VDC. There are 11 welding transformers of each of 90 KVA.

The Driving unit is with a 500 KVA power consist of motors of various ranges from 1.5 KW to 85 kw for functions like long wire pull off,long wire feeding,cross wire pull off,cross wire feeding,shearing,roller conveyers etc.These motors are controlled by converters from LENZE which has CAN bus wiring and Profibus wiring.The motor speed is controlled by varying the frequency.

Epoxy Coating line with 18 rebars at a time, having a coating capacity of 8000 MT/month.The line is comprised with Blastec from USA, which is used for grit blasting of rebar using Grits eg. GL 25, GL40.

The inductotherm induction heater is used to heat the rebars upto 250 deg C. The 3 phase 400 volt is step up to 3 phase 480 v. Here because of I2R loss a heat is generated from the high frequency magnetic field generated from the coil. The max is 1 KHZ, VOLT 780 V D.C with 1250 AMPS.

The machine has 4 blower motors of 75 H.P, an elevator and screw conveyer motors of 15 H.P.on top and bottom.

Evapco cooling tower to cool the water recycling through coil to cooling tower.Distilled water is used for this process.

Wagner coating system with 36 guns, where the powder is sprayed at a high KV and deposit on the rebar under the principle of Electrostatic Charge.

The conveyer system is activated by 36, 1 H.P motors connected to schneider drives .Where its speed is adjusted according to the size of rebar.Capacity 8 mm to 40 mm rebar.

Camfill powder collector is used to collect the dust from the powder and recycle it for continuous flow.

Role in Factory Maintenance(GCC):

Trouble shooting of Electrical breakdown in machines.

Assigning programme to sub ordinates.

Preparing the preventive maintenance schedule for the machines.

Maintaining the essential stock in stores.

Raising the purchase requisition for local and imported items.

Mailing and using teamviewer software to connect the machine directly to the supplier to solve some complicated breakdowns.

Updating the ISO formats.

Minimizing the downtime by studying the history of breakdown.

Coordinating with the foreign technicians.

Minimizing the usage of spares.
