The mission of the Public Works Services (PWS) is to protect and enrich the quality of life in the city through the sustainable maintenance, management and enhancement of resources and public infrastructure. The Public Works Services Department consists of four divisions (Utilities, Fleet, Right-of-Way & Facilities) tasked with maintaining various classifications of City’s assets. Historically each division has tracked and maintained records of assets by using individual supporting systems and technologies.

Currently PWS is in a process to replace the existing multiple outdated, stand-alone systems with a single integrated Enterprise Work Order & Asset Management System. The purpose of this project is to create uniformity, improve operational efficiency and provide latest technology to address aging and deteriorating infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

- Perform requirement analysis and structured systems analysis/design of Public Works processes.

- Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis.

- Design business process work flows, specify requirements specifications and use-cases.

- Works with supervisors to identify required changes

- Participate in project walkthroughs: business requirements gathering, design walkthrough, functional test plans and implementation sessions.

Consult with user to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives.

- Conducted different levels of testing in smoke testing, regression testing, integration testing, functional testing and compatibility testing to verify client’s needs are met.

- Engage client to gather software requirements/business rules and ensure alignment with development teams.
