Project Summary (ARO - Audit Recovery Operations)

The objective of Audit and Recovery Operations (ARO) is to be solely responsible for managing the claim overpayment audit and recovery functions across all UHG claim platforms, business segments and integrations.

UPI (ARO, COB, F&A) utilizes the Audit Recovery data mart to identify medical claim recovery opportunities. To aid in the recovery process the Audit Recovery data mart process provides monthly data files to external auditor vendors via the UnitedHealth Group Corporate FTP site. Also, internal UPI auditors receive specific core extract algorithm results for their analysis. The core extract algorithms results used are populated within Audit Review Tables within the data mart.

Work Details and Responsibilities

Main purpose is to setup and create Algorithms for United Healthcare to identify Over Payments and then send the identified overpayments for further processing.

Member of the Audit Recovery and Operations team which provides result of their analysis in form of data reports to the Auditor and External Vendor Team using Base SAS, SAS Macros, SAS SQL and improve the Monthly Report Generation Process to prevent the overpayment of claims.

2.HSA Implementations

HSA - Health Savings Account

This is a self-directed investment product, in which the employee is responsible for selecting the funds. This includes the loading and tracking of Employee contribution data for Health Savings Accounts. This data is used to Load funds to the participant's HSA Deposit account at UMB Bank. Once the contribution file is received, funds are drawn down from the client bank Account the following day.

3.Analysis and Defect Resolution

Defect Resolution is the post-implementation work to solve the defects in the existing code. Sometimes there may be a bug in the SAS programs/SQL-Query/Macros. So in these projects, code is thoroughly checked and refined to remove the bugs

4.Production and Ongoing Support

In PROD Support - Clients require us to close and validate some events on daily basis. In order to complete a full event flow, we have the LNGs (Load n go), IAPs (Individual Activity Processing), HPDFs, CTRBs in production running daily (including weekends and holidays). All of the jobs should be completed before the due time, and client team should be notified about the successful completion of jobs.

In ONGOING Support - Clients have some ad hoc requests to modify the existing code as per their requirements (Such as their input File layouts may change, output file layouts may change, claim processing logic and conditions may change, they may want to opt new processing in existing code etc.)

Work Details and Responsibilities

Main purpose is to setup and update the new client’s or new requirements of existing client in the TBA (Aon Hewitt’s ERP tool for data extraction, representation, testing and various tasks) and DB2.

SAS language is used to setup/update data in DB2 (on Mainframes) and then doing ETL and sending Reports to the clients.

Generated customized reports using SAS/MACRO facility, PROC REPORT, PROC TABULATE and PROC SQL.
