Objective Find steady employment.

Education

Tryon-Perkins High School 1979 Completed 11th grade

I went to work in the oilfield. -Times were different back then.

Southwest Technical College 1983

● Automotive Repair- I did not complete as I had to take a full time job offer.

Employment

2008-2014-no paying employment

We were wiped out in Hurricane Ike, I stopped working for others and concentrated on

our home repairs. (2 homes, 1 in La Porte then our current home in Seabrook)

2006-2008- Self employed carpenter. I would demo & remodel other peoples

homes. Install windows, doors, siding, cabinets & upgrade trim/millwork. Basic

electric and plumbing repairs. In 2007-2008 I was subcontracted by a company out

of Huntsville to help with the construction of Goose Creek School in Baytown. I did

all of the finish work. (sand, stain and lacquering). -I never advertised my services

as I stayed busy enough by word of mouth. The economy has made it hard to

depend on this career path.

1999-2006- Mostly Nabors Oil Drilling in Oklahoma and some in Texas . I was a

Derrickhand, my job was working 110 feet in the air tripping pipe in and out of the

hole. I would have to check the viscosity of the mud while mixing chemicals: gel,

caustic soda, lignite per the recipe needed to maintain pit volumes. Other times I

checked and repaired mud pumps as needed.

1992-1999- Universal Services -(now closed)

For 4 years I was mostly the 1 man warehouse for shipping and receiving of GM

motors. GM would send our company motors to package/crate & store until

dealerships ordered them. Using a forklift I would receive trucks in the morning and

load trucks in the afternoon. There was a lot of paperwork involved in this job &

inventory management. Before running the warehouse I worked in the shop with a

Newman saw (multi directional saw) building crates, skids, boxes and pallets to spec

for GM motors and other items for other companies.

Selected Skills and Abilities

● Highly skilled in most tools related to carpentry or oilfield.

● Forklift operations

● Dependable and honest.
