My area of expertise has been managing mechanical departments and workshops and maintenance and repair of all types of vehicles, rotating equipment, and static equipment over the years.

A broad based Technical Professional with a strong knowledge of Mechanical Workshop supervisory skills with a background and extensive knowledge in seismic Exploration crews, Deep water Marine, Land Vibroseis, Heli portable/Land portable drill dynamite and shallow water/TZ experience spanning over 20 years working world wide it is my responsibility to manage the mechanical maintenance work shops for all vehicles and camp equipment, it was also my responsibility for the ordering of spare parts and stock control and to maintain and update a planned maintenance database program.

Equipment Worked On and Maintained

As mechanic it was my responsibility to service and maintain and repair the following type’s equipment as per preventive Maintenance System (PMS).

Marine seismic overseeing maintenance of following equipment

20 years as compressor technician /source technician

LMF 1800 and 955 scfm 2000 psi compressors, Atlas Copco Hurricane 500 scfm compressors, Kaeser sigma single stage rotary screw compressor, GHmann two stage rotary screw compressor, Ingersoll-Rand rotary screw compressor .

Caterpillar 3516, 3512,3508 series engine, Detroit 92 series engines, Detroit 71 series engines, Hydraulic systems & Pumps, Shop air 120 psi Quincy, Ingersoll Rand compressors, Hydraulic winches, Hydrostatic testing of high pressure air systems.

Sea map gun link 2000 analog & 4000 Digital gun controller, 4300 cubic inch sound source with 6 G gun parallel gun clusters on each sub-array. It was also my responsibility of the ordering of spare parts and stock control.

Furthermore I was one of the company representative on the new build of the MV Western Magellan in Singapore 1998/99 it was our responsibility to oversee the installation of all seismic mechanical systems and equipment, this included 2 x 1800 scfm LMF compressors, high pressure system and hydrostatic testing of that system, main hydraulic system, cable towing winches x 6, gun towing winches x 6, wide tow winches x2, cable fairlead points x6, and 5 x auxiliary winches gun deck and cable deck, also the load testing of all winches.

Gardline/CGGV Singapore assisting as shore/crew support to the vessel whilst out on survey dealing with the local and international contractors for ordering and perching of spares and overseeing engineering and fabrication work carried out by local engineering companies, also re-terminating JDR analogue gun umbilical’s.

Terraseis Middle East Ltd rigging of a shallow water shooting vessel the Siruis B It was my responsibility to organize the design and oversee the manufacturing and deployment and retrieval system, high pressure air control panel, incorporated the high pressure manifold and blow down valves, the gun plates and the hydraulic system on board the vessel, also the ordering and overseeing the installation of all the equipment on the back-deck, winches, hydraulic system, high pressure air system, low pressure air system and the gun arrays, also sourcing and the purchase of all equipment and parts locally.

Deployment & retrieval system installed 4 Romica 2.8 tone winches one forward and aft, port and starboard, fitted with a remote control operating system, Gun system installed 2 flexible float system 2 x 500 cu in gun arrays consisting of 1 parallel cluster x 2 150cu in G-gun II, 1 parallel cluster x 2 60cu in Mini G gun, 1 parallel cluster x 2 40cu in mini G gun per array, each array equipped with RGPS system, Big Shot RTS gun controller system. Compressors 2 x 500 cfm LMF units

Land seismic overseeing maintenance of following equipment

Transportation 6x6 wheel drive Kenworth trucks, 4x4 drive pickups, Detroit 92 series engines, Detroit 71 series engines, Deutz engines, Transmissions, Accommodation trailers, RO water purification systems, Refrigeration systems and air conditioning systems, Camp Generators, in general all camp maintenance. Heli-portable Jackro drills, Brigs & Stratton engines, 300 scfm screw compressors.

Petroleum Geo-Services on shore (PGS) as relief mechanical crew support my responsibilities were, oversee the mechanical workshop and the fabrication workshop, also to manage all local purchases and international purchases for the crews, it was also my duty to coordinate journey management for all deliveries to the crews and support for anything they needed.

Nowsco Well Services: Singapore employed as Chief mechanic/Operator in Brunei and Thailand, on land and offshore oil and gas platforms. Principal operations include carrying out Coil Tubing well stimulations, sand clean-outs, nitrogen lifting of wells, well kills and well-head change-outs. As the Chief mechanic on board, I was also responsible for the maintenance of Reciprocating high pressure pumps and repair of this equipment and the ordering of spare parts and stock control.

Northern Bluff Fisheries: Dubai Engaged as Engineer, working on fishing trawlers. Operating and maintaining main engines, auxiliary engines, Generators, hydraulic systems, refrigeration systems and air conditioning systems.

Mammoth Gulf Dubai: employed as site mechanic working on industrial engines, diesel and petrol, 2 stroke and 4 stroke, compressors and hydraulic pumps.

O.P.D. Instrumentation, Dubai: Working in Dubai Dry-docks repairing instrument tubing, multi-core tubing, and pneumatic control valves. Also fabrication of instrument panels, on bomb damaged ships.
