ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE
System Engineer, IoT Environmental Sensing Network Project, Ithaca, NY 1/2017 – Ongoing
Created the real-time data monitoring Linux server with JavaScript and joined the Ithaca local IoT network.
Designed the casing and assembled the circuits suitable for severe condition with validation and field testing.
Deployed solar-powered PM2.5 sensor stations at Ithaca and built a data monitoring network.
Mechanical Engineer, Single-acting Engine Project, Ithaca, NY 3/2017 – 4/2017
Drafted parametric design of a single-acting engine with a spinning-direction reversing mechanism in NX 10.
Generated manufacturing ready part drawings with GD&T ASME Y14.5, Assembly drawings, Part-level Liaison Diagram, Assembly Sequencing Tree and Rigid-Attachment Table.
Mechatronics Engineer, Automatic Pill Dispenser Project, Ithaca, NY 11/2016 – 12/2016
Designed Pill Dispenser dispense two types of pills with user specified amount at user specified time.
Invented a dispensing mechanism with drawings/layouts/schematics, 3D printed and laser cut parts.
Programmed a GUI with a 700-line Python script on Raspberry Pi with piTFT touchscreen.
CAE Engineer, Stress and Fatigue Analysis of a Car Transmission Hub, Ithaca, NY 3/2017 – 4/2016
Analyzed a press-fit transmission hub in ABAQUS with preprocessing including Thermal Expansion in HyperMesh.
Determined safety factor based on the post-analyzed result using FEMFAT.
Control Engineer, PID Control Turntable Project, Stony Brook, NY 11/2015 – 12/2015
Built PID turntable speed control system that satisfies certain performance specifications both digitally and analogically.
Developed digital PID controller using LabVIEW Data Acquisition interface and Created analog PID controller using OpAmp, resistors, capacitors, diodes and transistors.
Simulated percent overshoot, rise time, settling time and other parameters with Matlab, then optimized both digital PID and analog PID controller.
Mechanical Designer, Liquid Metering Device Project, Stony Brook, NY 11/2014 – 12/2014
Designed and constructed metering device, based on the Bernoulli equation, capable of discharging specified volumes of liquids (10-1000mL) with an accuracy of +/-1ml.
Manufactured parts in machine shop, assembled circuits, programed the device with LabVIEW, tested and calibrated the flow meter then generated BOM with assembly sequencing.
