Completed over 180 clinical hours shadowing and providing direct care and management for patients of all ages under the supervision of a Nurse Practitioner
Services provided include medication management, medical and surgical history reviews, acute care, chronic disease management, annual wellness visits and hospital follow ups
Skills practiced included pap smears, joint injections, ear exams, eye exams, diabetic foot exams, breast exams, wound care, incision and drainage and patient education

Pediatric Practicum October 2016 – December 2016
Completed over 180 clinical hours spent shadowing and providing care for pediatric patients under the supervision of a licensed physician

Completed over 200 clinical hours shadowing and providing care for patients under the supervision of a Family Nurse Practitioner
Patient population included routine and hospital follow ups, routine office visits and acute care visits. Patients range from 16 to 99 years of age.
Services provided included obtaining history and physical, preforming initial head to toe assessments, suture removal, incision and drainage, PAP smears, ingrown nail removal and wound cultures

Providing care for pre and postoperative patients in a level 1 trauma facility
Completing tasks such as passing medications, controlling pain, wound care, head to toe assessments, monitoring blood loss, inserting foley catheters, and placing NG tubes
Worked collaboratively with other members of the health care team such as resident physicians, surgeons, nurses, physical therapist, respiratory therapist and pharmacist
Cross-trained in step down/ intermediate care nursing. Completed 96 hours of training on higher acuity patients. Skills mastered include trach care, deep suctioning, continuous cardiac monitoring, high-flo oxygen (including BiPap and CPap) and titrated intravenous drips.

Completed 120 clinical hours providing care for three critically ill patients under the supervision of a registered nurse
Skills practiced included passing meds, administering injections, ostomy care, tube feedings, catheter insertion, accessing central lines, completing dressing changes, patient assessments, charting, telemetry monitoring and over all care for pre and postoperative patients.
Service Learning Project Gayle’s Point, Belize Impact Belize January 2014
Traveled on an interdisciplinary team of students in nursing, dental hygiene, communication disorders, public health and social work to provide holistic care for patients in the village of Gayle’s Point
Worked alongside multiple physicians and participated in patient care
