Reficar grass root project Cartagena, Columbia

As a Manager of Construction planning and scheduling I was responsible for all planning & scheduling for a 3 billion dollar grass root facility for Reficar project located in Cartagena Columbia. My range of duties included supervision of several employees and I was responsible for all planning and scheduling related issues including monitoring schedule, progress measurement, manpower planning and ensuring schedule to be in accordance with project milestones and guidelines. Integrated Petrochemical site (Sinopec/BASF) Nanjing, China I was assigned to IPS II expansion project in Nanjing, China. Renewable Energy Corporation (REC Silicon) Moses Lake, WA As a principal project control specialist for REC Silicon Plant 4.0 my responsibilities included overseeing all various contractors’ schedules and make one resource loaded integrated schedule. Prepare various weekly and monthly reports, such as construction manager report, director report, weekly and monthly reports. Provide progress Data for Fluor’s MileMarker progress measurement. Multi projects – Port of Spain, Trinidad

While assigned to Flour’s Port of Spain, Trinidad office I was responsible for planning and scheduling of EPCM of multiple projects for such companies as BP, BG, BHP, Petrotrin, and various other clients. As the principal project controls specialist I was in charge of all projects planning and scheduling. I supervised and trained local Fluor and contractor’s planners. I improved the existing progress measurement and reporting procedures. Additionally, I oversaw several upstream and downstream construction schedules. I made weekly trips to the fabrication yard where several platforms were being fabricated to ensure that the progress reporting complies with client’s procedures. Prior to my arrival to Port of Spain engineering and construction schedules was not resource loaded, I started teaching resource loading techniques to our local planners.

I prepared several major shutdown schedules for various clients. Upon my departure all our engineering, construction and procurement schedules were resource loaded. While in Port of Spain I received my second Fluor’s Spot Light award.

Shell Chemicals – Fort Saskatchewan, Canada

I joined Fluor’s construction management team to direct the development of both ISBL and OSBL schedules by junior planners. As the senior project control specialist I prepared the Shell Scotford ULSD Weekly Construction Status Report and monthly Venture Management Team report. The grass root construction of Diesel Hydrotreating Unit (DHT) was achieved on time. Additionally, I planned and scheduled a detailed resource loaded hourly turnaround schedule for OSBL. Due to operational delays, the construction portion of turnaround did not begin until September 17th, five days later than the target schedule date. However Fluor completed their portion of turnaround without any delays to refinery on time. More significantly there were no safety infringements during the Fluor managed portion of the turnaround including no first aids which set a record in the refinery. I also monitored cost reporting and cost control in the absence of senior cost specialist.

NOVA Chemicals – Seabrook, Texas

As the senior project control specialist, I joined the project team three months prior to a major turnaround. I finalized and resource loaded the existing turnaround scheduled developed by junior planners. Subsequently, I developed tailor made reports to meet client’s specific needs. I set up progress measurement by discipline and contracts to be monitored on a daily basis during the turnaround. I supervised filed planners during the turnaround to ensure the progress reporting is in accordance with the original plan. The client considered the shutdown very successful and it was highlighted in Fluor’s eNews.

CITGO Petroleum Corporation- Lemont, Illinois

As the senior planner and scheduler for a grass-roots installation of a new gasoline hydrotreating unit I planned, scheduled and coordinated various contractors schedule into an overall master EPC schedule. Additionally, I planned and scheduled 2004 Tier 2 fuels project, a three-month Turnaround involving various union contractors. This involved interfacing with all contractors for the preparation of a detailed resource loaded hourly schedule. I was nominated for Fluor spotlight award. I received the award along with a letter of appreciation, gift certificate and a plaque. Subsequent to Tier 2 Fuels project, I planned and scheduled for the Selective Hydrogenation Unit (SHU) which was designed to Hydrogenate the Diolefins in FCCG feed and to convert the light mercaptans and light sulfides to heavier sulfur compounds. Senior Lead Planner and Scheduler

Petronas – Bintulu, Malaysia

Malaysia LNG Rejuvenation and Revamp (MRR) project involved the existing LNG facilities plant wide. The project involved numerous contracts with various contractors. Responsibilities included development of integrated plans and schedules for Pre-turnaround Construction & Turnaround planning and scheduling for Module I, Module II, Jetty area and Non-modular areas in accordance with system turnover requirements. I was also responsible for the preparation of commissioning schedules, Progress measurements on daily and weekly basis. Prepared monthly progress reports to be incorporated in to overall monthly project report. I trained client and contractors personnel while supervising the local planners. Module I and II turnarounds were accomplished on time which was scheduled for 135 days for each Module. Subsequently, I planned and scheduled Module III, Slug catcher and Crude Oil terminals turnarounds which were scheduled for the following year. As a part of local staff development these schedules will be monitored by local staff.

Dow Chemical – Free port, Texas

As the senior project control Specialist I provided leadership, engaged in training and assisting junior planners to better enhance the control's department ability to plan, schedule, and control. This involved various construction projects, shutdowns/turnarounds, maintenance projects, system turnover, cost reporting, and manpower planning. While training several schedulers, I planned and scheduled several construction projects of various sizes. Majority of the projects involved turnarounds. My last responsibility was to plan a four-month turnaround involving several hundred thousand man-hours. I transferred the updating and progressing duties to the junior planners. I continued my involvement with those projects by supervising the planners and staying as a part of project team until the project completions. I continued providing Projectcontrol's department with personnel training and supervision combined with various projects planning. BP – Red Deer Alberta, Canada

I joined the project as a senior lead construction scheduler. Prior to mobilization to the field I assisted in the development of Engineering, Procurement and level II construction schedule in Houston office. Upon mobilizing to the field I developed the level IV man powered construction schedule. This was a primavera schedule on the network interfacing simultaneously with Houston and Mexico offices. This scheduled tracked all purchasing and pipe and steel fabrications in Edmonton facilities. BI-weekly scheduling meeting was held to discuss the current status of the project. Consequently, I developed a schedule that converted from the area concept of planning to a system turnover schedule.

Sterling Chemicals, Texas City, Texas

Three weeks prior to Styrene unit Turnaround, I was responsible for combining four Microsoft project files with an average of 1,000 work activities in to one master file. Furthermore I incorporated Operations logic and manpower to this schedule. Upon the completion of the integrated detailed work schedule, I provided accurate and timely reports to management for their review; this resulted in completion of a successful turnaround.

Donohue Industries Incorporated, Sheldon Texas

After the Paper Mill’s union planners contract was not renewed, I was assigned to Donohue’s paper mill to assist in planning and scheduling of daily routine, emergency and safety work including the monthly shutdowns. The duties included scoping and estimating jobs, ordering parts and materials, contacting vendors, awarding contracts, entering and approving work orders on the mill’s main frame computer, maintaining Donohue’s work order backlog and planning and scheduling jobs for two paper machines. I was also involved in selection process of contractors for various capital projects.

MICNIC (Consolidation Mine Company), Morgantown West Virginia The construction schedule for six briquette producing facilities which was a new process in the industry, by Brown & Root was on a very fast track and on aggressive pace. This was due to a new fuel tax credit that would have expired should the construction would have not finished on time. I prepared a detailed manpowered schedule for two of the six sites (Humphrey and Arckwright) for the contractors execution. I also prepared a system start-up schedule which was utilized by all six sites. All of the six sites start-up was accomplished prior to the expiration of the new fuel tax credit. The construction of OCBC/PCBAL project was underway while the design and procurement was being done simultaneously. More than fifteen union contractors were involved in construction of this expansion project. No one single plan was in existence. I prepared a level IV resource leveled CPM schedule in conjunction with engineering, equipment deliveries and construction. I also prepared several interim turnaround schedules during various construction phases. Additionally, as a key member of the management team, I participated in meetings on a weekly basis in engineers and client offices in Houston and Niagara Falls. I was part of OCBC/PCBAL project for more than nine months.

Chino Mines Company, Silver City, New Mexico

I prepared a detailed construction schedule for Sx/Ew expansion project. After the schedule development the planning responsibilities were transferred to a junior planner for monitoring purposes.

Weyerhaeuser Paper Company - Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada As the senior lead planner was responsible for coordination, and development of schedules for the Spring 1997 major shutdown. A major portion of our time was spent in making a computerized conversion from the existing software to a Window’s based software. I conducted planning sessions to ensure that the parameters of the shutdown established by management could be met. Detailed schedules were developed for operations, maintenance, and engineering, including pre-shutdown activities. This shutdown was one of the largest in Prince Albert’s history and the target schedule was met.

Phillips Petroleum Company - Sweeny, Texas

The construction of furnace Nos. 7, 8 & 9 was several months behind schedule. As a consultant, I reviewed five different contractor's schedules and cost reports to determine the true mechanical completion date. I prepared an independent schedule for Phillips management reflecting the current status of the project including cost recaps. Monitored the schedule progress and prepared weekly reports for Phillips until the completion of the furnaces construction.

Weyerhaeuser Paper Company - Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada As the lead planner, responsible for the development and issue of detailed work schedule to support Weyerhaeuser’s 1996 Spring shutdown at their Prince Albert Mill. A manpower leveled schedule was prepared. The network contained more than 2,000 activities reflecting operations, maintenance, and all contract and capital work, including pre-shutdown activities. I supervised Brown & Root planners and had a direct interface with the mill planners. Responsible for coordination with mill management and shutdown personnel to ensure shutdown goals and objectives are met. Brown & Root, Inc. Highway and Paving Department

After joining Brown & Root's Highway and Paving Department, for a fourteen month period restructured the entire existing planning and scheduling system. More than 30 projects both in Houston and Dallas offices, located in various counties were scheduled in detail. Ineffective existing soft wares were replaced by new ones for all job sites in various details for all levels of Management. Subsequently recruited and trained a planner for the Dallas office and trained numerous project engineers at job sites and home office. Upon successful completion of this assignment trained a planner to take over my responsibilities. Periodically monitored and reviewed Highway and Paving Department scheduling performance between various assignments.

Kimberly-Clark Forest Products, Inc.; Terrace Bay Canada I was responsible for providing consulting services for schedule and cost development for the September 1994 major shutdown. Provided training for client planners and was responsible for development of a detailed activity network for the shutdown.

Phelps Dodge Mining Company; Morenci, Arizona

Based on management's request, I participated in setting up the construction schedule for District Solution Transfer Project. This manpower leveled schedule was prepared in six weeks and was turned over to a junior planner for monitoring.

Phelps Dodge Mining Company; Playas, New Mexico

I prepared a detailed manpower construction schedule for a nine month project. The Fugitive Gas Collection Project covered three intermediate shutdowns and one total outage for a two week period. I was awarded a plaque along with other key management personnel for a very successful project.

Chino Mines Company; Silver City, New Mexico

After development of a CPM based manpower leveled schedule, upon discussion with Brown & Root's management team, was able to reduce the clients proposed 21 day major outage to 17 days. The smelter plant start-up time was in accordance to the planned schedule.

Exxon Chemical U.S.A.; Baton Rouge, Louisiana

As the only responsible planner for the development of pre-shutdown activities construction schedule for the most complex, integrated and intense improvement/maintenance program in the history of the Baton Rouge Chemical Plant, prepared a nine month pre-shutdown/construction schedule which contained more than four thousand resource loaded activities. The complexity to this schedule was the fact that due to tremendous scope growth on a weekly basis was able to maintain and update both the schedule and manpower requirements. The pre-shutdown/construction schedule was considered successful.

Weyerhaeuser Paper Company Plymouth, North Carolina As a Lead Planner I provided Consulting services for four months on a major shutdown involving various complex capital projects. Helped client to develop CPM based schedule, and integrated various sub-contractors schedule to the main network. I monitored the schedule through a successful shutdown. Developed variety of new graphic and non-graphic reports customized for this particular paper mill for management presentation. Oxy Chemical; Corpus Christi, Texas

Due to tremendous scope growth and with no baseline schedule in existence, as the lead planner and scheduler developed a construction schedule to be monitored on a daily basis. After the explosion of atmospheric residuum desulphurization units (ARDS) in Phillips 66 Petroleum's Refinery, as a member of the emergency Management Team, participated in the construction scheduling effort, for the demolition of one of the ARDS units and simultaneously prepared another schedule for the rebuild of the other unit.

Weyerhaeuser Pulp Mill; Everett Washington

As a lead planner for the April 91 total mill shutdown, supervised two other planners and developed a detailed hourly schedule. Additionally, I made general presentation about CPM techniques to client personnel. This effort included contractors' development of the schedule and controlling their man- hours. The final target schedule contained 1,400 activities that were resource leveled by the individual craft. The mill started-up within half an hour of the scheduled start-up time.

Georgia Pacific Corporation; Ashdown Arkansas

I participated in an emergency development of a start-up schedule. The schedule that contained 300 construction packages which was very satisfactory with the client.

Weyerhaeuser Paper Company; Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada For the second consecutive years I participated in detail planning and definition of mill areas, and the craft and supervisory breakdown with mill management staff in maintenance, operations, engineering and optimization groups.
