Sr. QA Analyst

Main responsibilities included defining, planning, executing performance test strategies and solutions through business and technical expertise. Analyzing and reporting results and project status to project team and management.

Specific Responsibilities

Project Lead for Manual, Performance and Automation projects.

Developed and implemented performance test strategies, Test Plans and Scripts using HP Performance Center (HP Quality Center and HP Load Runner) for multiple projects. These project were developed using Solaris/SunOne, AIX/WebSphere, Load Balancer Configuration, Data Power, ETL, JBoss, and Oracle.

Worked as QA Lead on multiple projects like Data Center Consolidation (Virtualization), Upgrade of environments from Solaris/SunOne to AIX/WebSphere and product progression projects. As QA Lead, developed Test strategies and plans, conducted and evaluated Components Testing, SIT, UAT for the projects. Also managed both off shore and on site QA teams.

Implemented deal creation process for QA team which eliminated redundant manual process and improved workflow cycle by accelerating the entire deal creation process from 16 hrs. to 4 hrs. That particular cost effective solution for automation team was based on HP QTP and database framework.

Use application log files, NMON reports, Up Time, Site Scope, AWR Reports, LoadRunner Reports to prepare final performance result report.

Conducted Tests to identify memory leaks.

Created tool using VB to calculate the average response time from User Activity Logs.

Created tools using VB to analyze the UAL from production and complete the Load Test analysis.

Indigo Books and Music (contract) Feb 2007 – Nov 2008

Indigo is the largest Canadian retail bookstore chain.

Advised Sr. Management to improve the performance of Indigo web-based online store- Order Management System. Significantly improved online performance for the release of Harry Potter book “Deathly Hollows” from 1 transaction per second to 5 per second. Indigo Books & Music could handle thousands of online orders after the book launch without a single crash. Different workflows were developed to stress each and every component of the overall architecture.

Worked closely with development teams to fine tune the components in QA environment and then in production environment. Monitored the performance and resource utilization using “Perfmon”, verified the results through virtual payment tool and finally implemented the solution in production.

Executed performance and stress testing scenarios/ test scripts using Microsoft Visual Studio Load for different workflows.
