I have been a Packaging Technician and Supervisor since 1988. I have managed teams of Technicians while working as lead troubleshooting expert and Senior Project Manager. I am well trained on high-speed packaging equipment. I have almost 20 years experience with technologies such as powder, liquid and tablet packaging and product manufacturing, Blister forming and sealing, as well as oral solids and soft gel. I have conceived of, designed and implemented many innovations to improve production and limit downtime while ensuring safety and quality. I am well trained in GMP procedures as well as FDA and DEA regulations. I have excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to keep downtime to a bare minimum. Among some of my projects has been to research all packaging equipment and prepare definitive and structured set-up and Preventive Maintenance procedures, and train all Technicians. I have been on many root cause analysis and investigation teams. I pride myself in learning about my team, knowing their individual strengths and how to get them help when needed.

Lead Packaging Technician

Responsible for setting up, maintaining and repairing high speed packaging equipment including bottle unscramblers, fillers, vision systems, cappers, labelers and printers. Perform monthly preventative maintenance.

1Designed and implemented a PLC based device, which detects and removes fallen bottles from a conveyor belt. This has shown to improve production, safety and quality. I was given a special recognition award.

2I have designed and made mechanical improvements to machines when the product shape, size and contents were changed. These improvements were a key factor in resuming normal production output. I received a recognition award for these improvements.

3I have been called upon many times when other technicians are having downtime and are unable to resolve the problem. My troubleshooting skills have been a key factor in limiting downtime.

4I have been involved in equipment validations and have written my own validation change control procedures.

5I am considered a subject matter expert on the high-speed labeler and one of the authors of a training manual specific to this machine.

6I have been a safety representative and preside over monthly safety meetings given to my unit.

7I have been involved in the development of new PM procedures.

8Since January 2007 I have been training as a Primary operator on the Uhlman blister filling machine.
