Experience
Owner – FuelCNC Engineering Services/Overzien Automation
May 2015 – Present
Working directly with clients I provide in-depth high end repair and integration of new or existing machinery
By utilizing my years of experience at all company levels, I am able to also consult with the management team to further enhance their offerings and increase production using the latest technologies. Applying skills received from many years in the business, I focus on improving Uptime, Utilization, Performance, and Quality based on both OEE and TEEP metrics driven by real time data collection
Assisting my clients I have been able to drive these metrics from an arrears state to near real time via Machine Monitoring and custom interfaces at each work station streamlining communications and shop floor awareness. Incorporating such software as FactoryWiz (Machine Monitoring), eMaint (CMMS), and data driven ERP integration (Infor Visual) I am able to quickly give corporations the clear cut tools needed to measure performance and make immediate corrective actions that drive production shop wide
Magnum Precision Instruments - Director – Asset Management/CIP/Production Engineering
October 2012– May 2015
I was responsible for over 180 assets across 5 companies in a repair, management, engineering, and advisory role reporting directly to the CEO.
Directly reporting to the CEO, I was expected to ensure a maximum state of readiness for any and all production needs at all times for our 24/7 operations
Through diligent efforts and coordination of all teams we achieved higher net capacity and streamlined production performance
Magnum was a Tier 1 supplier for corporations such as Baker Hughes, Schlumberger, Halliburton for their down hole instrumentation divisions
Machining such hard to machine metals as Inconel, P550, Nitronix, and many other High Nickel metals on a large scale Magnum was a proven winner in areas of on-time delivery and absolute quality. During my tenure, I have implemented a complete maintenance recording system for all facilities and successfully integrated a full preventive and predictive maintenance program corporate wide via eMaint CMMS
These efforts afforded a continuous up-time percentage of 97% or better and available equipment meets factory standards for accuracy and functionality. I provided consulting/engineering for new process developments including complete design of systems to support production needs and add additional functionality to our customers
Educating senior executives, managers, and staff in Lean Principles and Metric driven production
Instituting many Lean principles we saw very effective results in a rapid time frame better positioning Magnum against our competitors. I was honored to lead the CIP team and implement many technological aspects to improve overall productivity
These processes once complete afforded a net cost reduction and overall margin increase that was unreachable prior to our moving the data to the front in a real-time fashion
I learned many new ways to utilize technology to drive success at all levels through Work Center communications centers which kept machinists at the machine through electronic communications mediums
Machinists simply pressed a button and their needs were filled by support staff increasing total machine utilization by over 50%
Ellison Technologies - Service Manager/Field Service Engineer
2009– 2012
Starting as senior field service engineer I was tasked with learning a new product with very little help from factory sources
Having never worked with DMG machines I accepted the challenge and rapidly adapted my skills to find solutions to customer needs
Working with Kevin Cruz and Brett Swandt, we cultivated relationships with the DMG Germany factories furthering our offerings to Ellison's growing DMG customer base
It was a hard road but in the end we did a solid job and laid a fundamental groundwork by which Ellison operates today. Ellison Technologies offered a promotion to regional service manager and I accepted the offer
During this time, I trained personnel on new equipment, managed large CAPEX installations for Fortune 500 companies, implemented new scheduling systems and increased service throughput
Managing over 30 employees across 3 states I was able to decrease lead time to repair by more than 50% accelerating sales corporate wide.
