Physical is the leader gym and fitness business in Mozambique. Development of a Web application using SCRUM that allows management of members for the various services provided by Physical. It manages information about Membership, Personal Training, Technical Questionnaires, Health Test, Fitness Test and Billing.

Implementation was done using Symfony (PHP), MySQL as database, Jasper Reports for reports and ElasticSearch for Enterprise Search.

The Government of Mozambique with support of the IFC (a World Bank agency) project ‘Mozambique Investment Climate Program’, carried out a comprehensive inventory of all business licenses in Maputo. A key component of the program was implementing the e-Registry, a business licensing Portal developed by the World Bank Group using Symfony PHP, MySQL on a Linux environment.

•Wrote Bid proposal, planned activities and estimated costs for the project

This Web application allows the registration and issue of licenses for the various services provided by INCM: Radiocommunication, Telecommunications, and Postal Services licenses. The system also manages the radio frequency spectrum and issues annual billing invoices to recurring licenses according to Mozambican legislation.

Successfully realized the project management through entire Software Development Life Cycle using SCRUM, and Bugzilla as a supporting tool. Defined two-week development sprints and weekly reviews with customer. Managed communication between project members that were physically disperse.

Realized project risk assessment and created a mitigation plan for each issue.

Reduced cost to the organization by successful identify requirements from legacy systems and legislation, and translate them as functional and non-functional requirements. Created business requirements documents (BRD) and functional requirements documents (FRD) for the customer Portal. Specified web services using SOAP for the integration between the Content Management System eZ publish and the back-office billing system.

Created mockups to demonstrate user interaction with the Portal. Executed user acceptance tests.

Project: Corporate site and Intranet (2012)

Customer: Standard Bank Mozambique; Vertical: Banking

Standard Bank Mozambique is part of Standard Bank Group, the biggest Bank in Africa. Several forms can be submitted by the public through the corporate website. Collected data are stored in the database and treated later by the bank. Exchanges Rates are dynamically updated from Back Office Information System. The intranet included the following features: Enterprise Search, Documents repository, Contacts database, Collaboration (teamroom), Discussion forums, Blogs, and Birthdays announcements.

Both the website and the intranet were implemented using the Content Management System eZ publish.

Part of the project Delivering as One, the United Nation Mozambique implemented an Intranet for collaboration among employees of all UN agencies in Mozambique. The implementation was on Microsoft SharePoint, and included document management, image banking, team sites, publishing, and approval workflows.

LAM Tours was a subsidiary of LAM, Mozambique main air carrier. Development of the e-commerce Portal included and e-shop module that was integrated to a payment gateway (PayGate), for online transactions.

Project: Virtual Library (2009 -2010)

A joint project between the Ministry of Science and Technology (MCT) and the National Library. The Extranet application implemented in Oracle Apex, allow MCT library to manage all its processes beginning with recording supplier’s catalogues, managing purchases, and managing borrowing and bookings. On the other hand, National Library and other libraries may register their catalogues.

A context-free grammar was developed and a parser implemented to index items using the Universal Decimal Classification.

Analysis, design and implementation of a database of employment and vocational training using Oracle Apex.

The Web database allows to register job vacancies (vacancies) made available by employers, job-seekers (search), allowing the automatic crossing of both (match). The application offers various statistical re-ports on the State of employment, including private employment centers. Regarding training, the application managed the courses provided by INEFP including planning and integration with employment candidates.

Vodakool was the first Generic WAP Portal in Mozambique. The objective of the Portal was to provide news and information to Vodacom (Mobile operator) clients that access Internet through the cell phone using GPRS. There were several cell phones manufacturers each one of them with several models and different navigators. The application was prepared to deal with these differences and to adapt to future models; content (including images), published on the database was customized on fly according to the device capabilities.
