Director – Manufacturing Engineering and Facilities

Manage personnel, budgets and priorities for Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Lean - Continuous Improvement, Maintenance, CNC Programming, Tool Room, Facilities, Training and Document Control. Incorporated Lean and 5S into the distribution and remanufacturing operations for torque converters.

TTI Floor Care - Cookeville, TN 2010 – 2015

Manufacturing Engineering and Facilities Manager

Manage personnel, budgets and priorities for the Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering, Molding and Assembly Maintenance, Facilities and the Tool Room/Mold Makers. Biggest accomplishment; successfully transferred TTI’s Commercial Floor Care manufacturing to Cookeville. This included injection molding machines from El Paso, ten product lines from Mexico and two from China and launched an additional new product line all within eighteen months on time and under budget.

Major skills added during this time include developing plant level budgets and Over Heads rates, Injection Molding, quoting new and transferring products and Pro E.

Dura Automotive - Gordonsville, TN 2006 - 2009 Left because facility was closed.

Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Provide leadership for a team of engineers and maintenance technicians that design, fabricate, launch and maintain automated assembly equipment. Manage all area of Program Management and Six Sigma continuous improvement activities. Responsible for cost save initiatives for the engineering departments and that the implementation timing supports the plant AOP. This is the first time the facility has been a tier 1 supplier.

Major skills added. Manage plant level budgets and decisions.

Manufacturing Engineer/ Maintenance Supervisor

Responsible for the equipment design, debug, programming and launch of a major new platform for the Gordonsville plant, U38x, and coordinating the transfer of existing OEM programs from a sister plant that was being closed. Major processes include tube swedging, welding, orbit forming, sound testing and assembly. Major skills added during this time included Signalysis sound testing software, RSSQL, SQLServer, and Solidworks.

Process Engineer III

Responsible for the production launch and debug of new assembly lines, with a new PC-based cell controller. This includes ensuring compliance with external and internal customer requirements for product traceability, recipes or BOM's and the unique shipping/labeling requirements for each customer. Cell controller built around an Oracle 9i database and stored PL SQL procedures. Assembly stations controlled by PLC5/80's, SLC5/05's or a ControlLogix processor using InduSoft as the HMI. This position also included managing outside programmers and the training of internal customers. This Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement project saved about $510K on 12 new lines in 2 years. Other completed Six Sigma projects saved $36K and $50K. Skills added ControlLogix, InduSoft, Oracle DBA, Visual Studio and writing PL SQL Procedures.

Information Systems & Manufacturing Engineering Section Head - Service Team

Responsible for the Service Support team consisting of Manufacturing, Industrial/Packaging, and Control Engineers and Maintenance personnel, which transitioned multiple airbag related products from multiple facilities from OEM production to Service by establishing and creating the production processes, equipment designs, PLC and Cell Controller software, mistake proofing and PFMEA's. Responsible for the cell control level software for both OEM and Service teams for the facility. This level controls product routing and traceability.

Information Systems/Controls Engineering Section Head

Responsible of all aspects of the shop floor machine control systems, along with the traceability system for a highly integrated airbag plant, including both controls and systems engineering personnel working with systems ranging from PLC's and printers to Visual Basic on NT platforms to Oracle on Digital Vaxes.

Information Systems/Controls Engineer

New plant start-up, responsible for the programming of AB PLC'5s AB CVIM systems, and the scanners, terminals, printers and VME for the plant traceability system. Also, used Oracle running in VMS and modified "C" code on PC's, Digital vaxes or for the traceability system running on a Motorola processor using PDOS in a VME bus.
