Was employed at Phillips 66 Refinery in Sweeny, Texas as a fitter’s helper. Helped with placing new pipe in over-head racks. Built fire proof shacks for cleaning and grinding ends of pipe, made ready for the welder. Provided fire watch for the company. Used safety harness for climbing in over-head racks. Used side arm grinders for cleaning ends of pipe. Took fire proof shacks down after weld was inspected.
Transferred to transportation in lay down yard. Drove a spotter truck pulling a flatbed trailer hauling new pipe, new steel beams and vessels into the unit (refinery). Pulled empty trailers back to lay down yard to be reloaded. Helped load trailers and strapped load down for delivery. Used 2 way radios for communications. Received NCCCER Certification on Heavy Equipment Rough Terrain Forklifts V2.
