Supporting production in a JIT environment supplying seating and door trim to Toyota Canada

Cambridge Lexus.

Focused on door trim, vacuum forming and Injection moulding, supporting seating quality

reducing customer defects and meeting customer quality target of 15 PPM for my first year.

Reduced door trim defects from over 4 per month to less than 2.

Implemented 1X1 defect reduction in door line

Controls manager to move to the position, Managed 3 quality engineers and 1 lab technician

supporting Toyota moulded product, Ford door production, Camero door production and Chrysler

headliner.

Moved into a full time quality engineering position supporting Toyota production. This included

moulded product for Toyota Cambridge, Toyota Woodstock and JCI Milton seating product.

Completed internal audits, supplier corrective action and internal improvement activities

Lead a Quality improvement activity with Toyota Canada improving quality fromover 100 PPM to

meeting the 15ppm targets.

2002-2009 Mitchell Plastics/Ultra Manufacturing, Kitchener, Ontario

Quality Manager

Managed up to 15 quality engineers, inspectors and CMM operators.

Managed the quality portion of launch activities for Chrysler, General Motors, Ford, Toyota,

Honda, and Nissan programs.

Spent 2 years in Huntsville, Alabama as part of the senior management team starting up a

100,000 sq foot injection moulding facility. Successfully launched Honda, Toyota and Nissan

programs.

Managed the quality portion of the Toyota Rav4 and Lexus RX330 SUV launch for the Woodstock

and Cambridge Toyota plants. Achieved < 50 ppm for the first 3 months of launch and received

Launch awards from Toyota for the achievement.

Participated in Toyota TPS projects where the focus was on quality, efficiency and employee

working condition improvement. Successfully reduced cycle times and maintained quality

requirements.

Fourth Canadian employee hired to start up a new production facility to supply Honda Canada.

Managed 12 quality engineers through the successful start up of the Honda Civic, Honda

Odyssey, Honda Pilot, Acura EL, Acura MDX.

Successfully registered the company to TS16949 Quality Management Systems and ISO14000

Spent 6 months in the production side of the business managing the assembly department.
