RF Engineer

Support daily functional activities like GSM, UMTS and LTE Voice and Data performance degradation or post-modernization optimization. Monitor and take action on Hourly performance alerts and addressing customer tickets from Customer Care and Sales.

Checking the BSS Availability report for the Long Island market on a daily basis, reporting the troubleshoot comments for the cells having bad availability to the RF team and Field Operations teams. The report helps tell where the issue needs to be fixed.

Work with the Senior Engineer / Team Lead to monitor network nodes, learn troubleshooting & optimization methodologies and develop action plans to improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Analyze drive test data and make recommendations for coverage / quality improvement and dropped call / access failure mitigation.

Conduct network performance analysis and trials with the Senior Engineer / Team Lead. Support the Senior Engineer / Team Lead in implementing the improvement actions. Conduct analysis and roll-out, test and verify new features, methodologies and on field testing.

Worked on solving customer complaints concerning dropped calls, poor voice quality and slow internet speeds. Troubleshoot the site covering the problem location, educating the subscriber about the RF conditions on the site and our plan of action to improve the condition. Also, at times made relevant optimization on the site with the help of Sr. RF Engineer.

Worked with Sr. RF Engineers to design long term relief measures for the currently congested sites as well as future congested sites, making use of MapInfo tool which is a GIS mapping tool. Some of the relief measures include adding L700 layer on the neighboring site, L1900 overlay on same site or neighboring site, adding DAS nodes for venue sites, proposing sector add or cell splitting for heavily congested site

Cleaning up the ASSET database of T-Mobile (core network design database) for the Long Island market for maintaining the network data integrity, following the discovery of discrepancy in the data by the team

Working knowledge on updating the National RFDS sheets and RND CIQ.

Hands on Experience with TEMS data and ASSET data.

Used TEMS records to trouble shoot the site issues.

An X type configured Quad copter using four brushless motors and a RF transmitter receiver to control the flight.

The software is coded on to an Arduino UNO board.
