Resume:

Education

University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA

Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering with Minor in Chemistry, May 2015

Dean’s List – 3 Semesters

Relevant Coursework:

Design for Manufacturing, Biomechanics, Solid Modeling, Senior Design, Biomedical Finite Element Modeling, Engineering Problem Solving, Human Physiology

Engineering & Research Experience

Axalta Coating Systems, Mt. Clemens

Research and Development Technician April 2016 – Present

Specialized on the New Model year team which focuses on the design and testing of new colors to be used on future model cars including 2017, 2018, and beyond. Set a group record for color approvals with over 100 unique colors approved for customers.

Managed an area of concern by moving forward part of the testing process into a portion of the development process. Allowed the testing and approval to be streamlined with better results in performance. This new process flow reduced the amount of materials needed by 50 percent and reduced the process from approval to testing by a few days.

Body Motion Research Lab, University of Iowa

Undergraduate Researcher October 2013 – April 2015

Analyzed human motion utilizing motion capture technology including markers and accelerometer suit system with programs including Visual 3D, Cortex and Santos

Compared data collected with Santos design team to validate computer program simulations compared to our human subjects. Test results led to a fundamental change in how soldiers ergonomically move in gear while increasing the accuracy of computer simulations by over 20 percent.

Taught high school and visiting foreign students about the process of motion capture and provided them with a basic understanding of the software utilized in the lab. At the end of the 2 week session students became proficient enough to analyze and extrapolate data from testing with little aid.

Research & Project Work

Designed a device to effectively and cost-effectively treat brain tumors in a large range of patients using Proton Therapy. Submitted results and future plans to acquire a provisional patent on Proton Therapy helmet design

Created a remote controlled rover utilizing machining techniques including Computer Numerical Control (CNC) milling and 3Dprinting, this rover completed the obstacle course in the fastest time while completing all side objectives

Observed material properties of common metals, ceramics, and polymers to be used in implant design

Gained expansive knowledge of applications and tools for CreoParametric design program which aided the design and scope of projects ranging from a remote controlled rover to redesigns of needles and drug delivery systems

Utilized Abaqus and IA Fe mesh extensively for analysis of biomechanical components ranging from bones to articular cartilage and poroelastic material. Was able to correctly model osteoporotic bone in the radius during a fall to that of a real test experiment with the data within 2 percent

Leadership & Community Involvement

Biomedical Engineering Student Society (BMESS); Vice President

January 2014 – May 2015

Accreditation Board for Engineering & Technology ABET Student Representative

October 2014

Computer Skills

MatLab, CreoParametric, Visual 3D, Cortex, Microsoft Office
