Estimator

Worked in the sales department providing quotes for the cost for our interlocking steel panel buildings, primarily to house high voltage electrical equipment for the oil industry, using DOE’s Comcheck, Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD 2013 for clients such as CB&I, Fluor Daniel, and Panelmatic.

Read specifications and one-lines, to gain knowledge of the equipment needed, and for the structural necessities of the building. Calculated the wind loads, and the snow loads for the given area to determine the gauge steel needed for the building.

Interacted with suppliers to price the equipment necessary for the buildings.

Used Excel spread sheets to provide the cost for the equipment installation, all interior necessities, such as cutouts, doors, Marshalling Cabinets, Fire Protection, all utilities, receptacles, panel boards, transformers, and HVAC.

Using Comcheck, to calculate the insulation necessary in the building to comply with the Department of Energy codes and standards.

Calculated the heat loads from the building to size the HVAC.

Used AutoCAD 2013 to produce initial floor plan drawings to size the buildings, if none were provided.

Worked in conjunction with design engineers in the Transmission & Distribution, and Process & Industrial departments using AutoCAD and Microstation for clients such as Texas Air National Guard, NASA, AEP, Flint Hills, and Shell.

Produced cable tray routing drawings, plans and elevations, details, section cuts, and schematics, including site views for verification and accuracy for the Flint Hills renovation project.

Worked on underground electrical lighting and power plan drawings and details for the Texas Air National Guard at Ellington Field.

Worked in conjunction with our corporate office in Kansas City on the central heating and cooling plant electrical upgrade for NASA.

Produced new construction plan drawings, elevations, details, and demolition drawings for equipment room renovations with various clients.

Contracted to Fluor Daniel’s Telecommunications department for the Sakhalin Island project on a very tight time schedule

Identified equipment needs and researched products to guarantee compliance with both the client’s and Fluor’s specifications

Compiled material lists including both equipment and quantities to be utilized by procurement

Interfaced with engineering and other disciplines to reduce the possibility of errors, and to minimize the need for revisions

Used AutoCAD 2000i to produce IFC Drawings for telecom room layouts, elevations and details for the LAN, Cable TV, CCTV, and for phones and emergency beacons and speakers placed through out the plant

Designed outside plant facilities for approximately 24 square miles of the Houston-Alief wire center.

Conducted preliminary field inspections to determine the scope of work.

Prepared detailed engineering projects and associated work prints for both copper and fiber facilities using Opti-Cad, a variation of AutoCAD 2000.

Interacted with various departments including Construction, Installation, Special Services, Marketing, and the Texas Department of Transportation to insure timely completion of projects.

Created civil plan & profile drawings, and was one of the inspectors for the fiber optic cabling placed through out Houston.

Utilized AutoCAD r14 and Micro station to produce A.F.C. scale drawings for equipment elevations, telecommunication room design and layouts, underground cable routing, and interconnection diagrams for major petrochemical plants.

Correlated drawings with other disciplines, including structural, electrical, architectural, and piping.

Revised and produced scaled drawings for all component parts of conventional coring assemblies to meet the Pearland division’s manufacturing and engineering standards of down-hole tools.
