IT-Process Improvement

Working with William’s employees from all asset locations to develop, design and build a companywide repository and search engine for corporate documents in order to standardize all areas to The William’s Way through SharePoint 2010 & 2013. Included in the standard documents are Emergency Response Plans (ERP), standard pipeline equipment, business processes, naming conventions, standard drawings, safety requirements and building standards. When completed, all areas of business will have a single location to search for all of William’s standard documents.

Managed process for complete installation (computers, printers, network cabling, etc.) for a new hospital in Broken Arrow, OK. Established management’s IT needs and staffing levels. Closer to opening time, ordered all IT equipment including several hundred PC’s and support equipment. All equipment was successfully tested prior to opening. Completed project on time and under budget.

Lead the company PC upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7. Collected lists of software from each department. Tested software compatibility with Windows 7 operating system and built software when necessary. On a daily basis, guided departments on how to use the new system. Over a 2 week period, completed rollouts in Tulsa, Shreveport, Houston, Pecos and Victoria Texas and several smaller offices. Completed total project in 2 months.

Charged with designing and installing IT equipment in the hospital’s new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Being an area of life saving importance for very ill babies, everything had to be dependable and work perfectly. After meetings with the NICU Manager and the construction supervisor, completed the design, ordered/installed/tested all equipment, including Notebooks, iPads, handheld Mobile devices. I was awarded the St. John’s Values in Action Champions Award.

Developed an internal website (Department Dashboard) to allow on-site and off-site Asset team members access to daily/weekly reports. Extensive staff travel had caused a communication problem. Met with Asset Team employees to surface needs and decided the best course of action would be the Dashboard. Worked with IT to develop a user friendly website requiring minimal training. The final product could be accessed by a variety of ways (mobile device, home e-mail, work e-mail, etc.). All staff members could now be kept up to date. Worked as liaison between the business units and IT development teams for the Dashboard project. Developed SharePoint intranet sites and dashboards used for everything from scheduling jobs on rig sites to storing important documents on a daily basis.

IT-Problem Solving

Responsible for tracking of all IT assets, both hardware and software, making sure all assets are billed to the correct cost center and department. Tracked software licenses using SMS and later SCCM. In charge of making sure no unlicensed software was installed on company computers. Track software licenses for required IT audits. Ordered software, hardware for all departments directly from vendors or through the RFP process. Tracked all decommissioned hardware.

Established a process for collecting well site data from remote locations. Locations in Louisiana and Texas were hampered by lack of a reliable connection for uploads and downloads. Researched multiple solutions (portable towers, new cell towers, etc.), selected a vendor and performed on-site testing. Saved money through multitasking equipment while still achieving the goal of uploading/downloading data without timing out.

Converted well files containing thousands of information sheets into a computer accessible database capable of tracking costs through receipts. The solution was to allow all computers to access the data while maintaining security. Met with staff to develop 12 good search parameters (meta data), employed an outside firm to scan 7 years of well files, and, trained employees to scan new documents. Improved efficiency/accuracy saved time and reduced costs.

Management

Selected to manage desktop support and deployment teams (14 staff members). These teams performed all PC installations and problem resolution. The position required 24/7 coverage for the main hospital and 3 satellite hospitals. The IT director and HR manager polled staff members as to who they thought should head the teams. Every team member suggested me for the job.
