Selected Responsibilities and Accomplishments

●Managed all aspects of a company function including recruitment, hiring and training of staff, budgeting, payroll, scheduling work and activities, establishing policies and procedures, procuring equipment and supplies, performance evaluations, benefit administration and motivation of employees.

●Boosted productivity of the HR office through research into best practices and reorganization of employee document storage. Put in place a new color coded filing system that made access to needed information easy.

●Boosted productivity by using ASL sign language to communicate with hearing impaired employees. Organized information that was to be communicated regarding new systems in place and partnered with supervisory staff to schedule these important training sessions.

●Enhanced morale through promotion of a team-based work atmosphere. Provided assignments of increased responsibility along with opportunities for additional training and challenging performance incentives that encouraged a sense of ownership in the overall operation.

●Researched best practices and partnered with the facility General Manager to install Suggestion Boxes wherein employees could anonymously make suggestions for process improvement(s) or express their concerns. Information obtained by the General Manager from these new communication devices led to noticeable improvements in the work environment.

●Increased employee satisfaction by reviewing historical overtime data and working with the Supervisors to equalize overtime and Holidays overtime workloads. New equalized schedules were then posted 1 week in advance of work commitment needs.

●Increased productivity through review of shift changeovers. Proposed updates to individual stations are posted 5 minutes after each shift to eliminate redundancies in work. This proposal was approved by senior management and remains in use today.

●Partnered with managers to schedule training times for new processing equipment. Worked with Engineers to deliver lecture, small group and one-on-one instruction on this new technology with minimal disruption to daily operations.

●Enhanced morale and communication through installation of a new Ticker-tape type electronic screen wherein messages telling changes and general information streamed across 24/7. The General Manager used this new tool to inform all employees of general news, events, weather and work issues.

●Reduced OT expense by working with Supervisors to allow more time to pull down mail load and dispatch prior to the end of a shift. Put in place new standard operating procedures which automatically scheduled in pull down times.

●Managed all aspects of the payroll function for an organizational location. Investigated payroll times, and accounting errors as reported by employees to ensure their paycheck was made whole. Partnered with Supervisory staff to verify work times and gather information. Submitted all payroll information to the federal payroll center.
