Guillermo Daubian, PMP

Who I am

My career is focused on building and leading teams, project management and service delivery of software development and testing, with particular emphasis on providing solutions to business problems of customers in the implementation and maintenance of processes and tools, and creating opportunities for professional development of the team members, both individually and in groups.

I am a certified PMP since August 2005. I have over 15 years of experience in project management activities and more than 20 years working in the IT industry, always in large sized organizations.

To complement my management skills, I attended a 3 years college course in business administration between 2002 and 2004. This training has led to an expansion in the vision I have about the work I do, and how to face problems and challenges, adding to the project management techniques and technology-specific aspects, a major focus on the business vision and needs of the customers.

In my current assignment, I work as Sr. PMO Analyst at Telefónica de Argentina, with responsibilities on the end-to-end follow-up of strategic projects. Also, I have responsibilities over training in project management matters.

I was responsible for the periodical assessment of the running contracts in LATAM focused in financial risks, and for the risk assessment in regional bids +1MM EUR.

As many of the colleagues I work with, live in other countries (Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and France and Germany), I worked in remote since last August, conducting the reviews thru MS-Lync, and using other corporate tools like the ESN BlueKiwi and MS-SharePoint.

Provided support and coaching to the project managers about risk management matters and project management in general.

Project Manager SGE project for the Argentinean Supreme Court, Atos Argentina, Buenos Aires, Argentina

I was in charge of the planning, execution and financial management of the project of implementation of an application to manage judicial files in the Supreme Court. The scope of the project includes construction, deployment, training and support for ~16.000 users all around the country.

The budget of this project was +5MM USD

PMO Off-Shore Center, Atos Argentina, Buenos Aires, Argentina

The center provided services to Atos Spain customers: BBVA and Bankinter (financial services) and SEUR (courier).

The activities of this project office, covered not only those related to reporting, but also risk management functions, implementation of corporate methodologies and tools, pre-sales, quality and financial management of projects, among others, like coaching and mentoring to team leaders.

Definition and measure of KPIs.

Implementation of the Software Factory practice at Atos Origin Argentina, accredited CMMI-DEV Level 3 in sep-2010 (staged representation).

Líder de equipo, I.T.R. para IBM Global Services, Buenos Aires, Argentina y New Jersey E.E.U.U.

Creating and leading a team to provide development and testing services to IBM Global Services U.S.

The initial project was the conversion to Y2K compliant of 1.2 million lines of COBOL code for the IBM outsourcing contract with the insurance company Prudential. This project included work on- site in New Jersey as a technical leader and consultant for the project manager, and off-shore in Martinez, as the argentine team leader in charge of the tasks of analysis and quality control of the programming carried on Madras, India.

The highly successful team performance and the overall success of Project 2000 in Prudential, were essential for the extension of the contract, which took the form of a maintenance contract in software factory mode.

Implementation of SCM tool Changeman for MVS, including about 15 applications and 20 million lines of code in the data center of Prudential.
