Location: ISRO

Topic: Process Design and Realization of Base Plate for ISRO Laser Gyro 300

Base plate is a mechanical hardware, which houses all mechanical, electrical, electronics, and sensor related components for advanced inertial sensor system. CNC machine is necessary for realization of the component. The material of base plate is Mu-metal. As base plate involves many critical geometrical and dimensional tolerances, we inspected it for deviations on various measuring instruments in metrology for compliance with stringent procedures. We designed step-by-step detailed diagram on AUTOCAD for easy coding in CNC programming. We designed the job chart and flow chart.

Mini Project:

Topic: Design and Fabrication of Rack and Pinion Mechanism

Mini Project is based on an innovative idea to assemble a modified rack and pinion steering wheel arrangement by employing hydraulic mechanism. A rack and pinion is a type of linear actuator that comprises a pair of gears, which convert rotational motion into linear motion. The rack and pinion arrangement is commonly found in the steering mechanism of cars or other wheeled, steered vehicles. In mini project section we studied, designed the rack and pinion with proper calculation, design procedure and sample fabrication. Four bar linkage arrangement is also modified.
