Saturn Corporation / General Motors – 1991 – 2009 (Automobile Manufacturer and distributor) 1) Supplier Manager – Worked with suppliers to expedite material for customer emergencies; part planning and engineering coordination of part release changes. Worked with over 100 different suppliers to coordinate normal and expedited shipments to minimize car-down situations. Successfully managed troubled suppliers. Worked with purchasing to prioritize contract timing, packaging and other requirements as needed. 2) Part Change Management (Service Part Engineer) – Managed part releases and developed catalog release for interior trim, transmissions and chemicals. In addition, special projects included analyzing Saturn chemicals to make common with General Motors released chemicals and secondly, implemented Saturn product instructions into GM systems. 3) Service Part Coordinator (liaison between SSPO and Powertrain Manufacturing) - Worked with MFG and MFG Engineering on maintaining past model service part capability to minimize inventory dollars in the SSPO warehouse with minimum MFG impact. In addition special projects included 2002 Powertain build out of engine, transmission and all make components. Devised and implemented unique long-term rust-proofing method by re-working and re-programming existing equipment. Also, saved $1.3 M on eliminating the need to purchase additional die cast equipment. 4) Remanufacturing Manager / Buyer – Negotiated and implemented Saturn’s first remanufacturing project (alternator) and developed transmission and engine remanufacturing efforts. Conducted on-site evaluations with UAW representatives and conducted PPAP (quality approval) reviews. Self-Employed – 1989 – 1990 (Cousti-Glo® Cleaning Systems and Neat & Trim Lawn Care) Cousti-Glo® Cleaning Systems was a geographical franchise specializing in commercial and private residence cleaning of acoustical tiles and other porous surfaces. Also started a lawn care business for additional income. General Motors Corporation / Hydramatic– 1976 – 1989 (Transmission Manufacturer) 1) Manufacturing General Supervisor (1988-1989) – Responsible for a three shift manufacturing and assembly operation of transmission components which was overseen by eleven floor supervisors and 600 employees. Results: improved departmental efficiencies, improved safety and union relations, introduced first of its kind tracking system, improved quality levels while maintaining production requirements. 2) Manufacturing General Supervisor – Assembly (1987-1988) – Responsible for second shift transmission assembly, testing and shipping. Results: improved production and quality levels while engaging unique working relationship with the UAW. Never shut a customer down due to lack of material. 3) Senior Quality Control Analyst (1985-1987) – Responsible for developing and establishing a statistical process control strategy in an assembly operation.
