Description : Failure of Sealing Valve is due to faulty design.

Most of the components of the system are hydraulically operated and any failure of these leads to the stoppage of blast furnace.

Alternatives suggested for failure of gland

Increase the size of bolts.

Increase the number of bolts.

Increase the number of bolts 6 to 18 is found to be the best alternative.
