Ph.D (Thesis submitted) Full-time program from J.J College, Bharatidasan University, TamilNadu, in the area of Micro propagation (Plant Tissue Culture) & anther culture (Doubled haploids) development and Phytochemistry of endangered medicinal plants.

Master’s Degree in Biotechnology from Bharatidasan University.

Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, Microbiology, food & nutrition.

Intermediate Course in Biology, Physics & Chemistry as Optional subjects from Board of intermediate education.

PhD Program

Title: Conservation of an endangered medicinal plant Curculigo orchioides Gaertn through in vitro culture and haploid plant

In my re-search, work profile and responsibilities includes:

Planning of the full project as per the company demands.

Maintenance of donor plant growth conditions.

Standardization of protocols through culture techniques like Tissue culture, anther culture/microspore culture/ovule culture.

Time to time cytological studies to see pollen differentiation and development.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

1. Sr.Officer-Production: Worked as Sr.Officer-Production in Godrej Agrovet Ltd (plant biotech division).From 2nd April-2009 to 31st July 2012.

Responsibilities include Year wise production planning for 6 million banana plants by micro propagation technique per annum.

Media preparation and formulations for low cost mass multiplication of economically useful organisms

Standardization of low cost micro propagation, hardening techniques for Banana (Musa sps) cultivars Dwarf Cavendish, Grand Naine, Ambamora, Mahalakshmi and Srimanta.

In vitro propagation of other spp of plants like Anthurium andreanum, Spathiphyllum, Diephenbhachea, Dracaena, Gerbera, carnation, Strawberry, Turmeric, Aloe vera, curculigo orchioides, Jatropha curcas, Gloriosa, Turmeric, Tomato, Sugarcane, Teak etc...

Selection of mother plants and their virus diagnosis.

Implementing the DBT-BCIL standards in R & D, production, GH and Nursery.

Area survey for season wise delivery of micro propagated plants

2. Scientist Trainee: Worked as Scientist trainee in TRANSGENE BIOTECH LTD. at Gopanna palem, West Godavari Dist. from 10TH Aug-2006 to 21ST March-2009.

Responsibilities include selection of viral free mother plants through visible symptoms and collection of explants from pre indexed mother plants.

Development of tissue Culture technology for commercial and medicinal plants like Banana, Anthurium andreanum, Spathiphyllum, Diephenbhachea, Dracaena, Gerbera, carnation, Strawberry, Turmeric, Aloe vera, curculigo orchioides, Jatropha curcas, Gloriosa, Tomato, Sugarcane, Teak ect... and establishment of In Vitro Cultures.

Established an efficient and economical plant cell and tissue culture facility, starting from designing the lab, refurbishing, and purchasing, establishing protocols of various plant species. This is the largest tissue culture facility in the country.
