Experience

May 9, 1994 - Present - 21st Century Oncology, Fort Walton Beach, FL and Hammonton, Voorhees, Willingboro, and Woodbury, New Jersey. I teach patients what to expect during their radiation treatments, how to take care of their skin, deal with nausea, dry mouth, mucositis, ect. Monitor their vital signs and weight. When I was in FL, I did blood draws for weekly CBC. Discuss dietary needs when necessary. Supply with information for support groups. I have been an active participant in volume studies for seed implants, catheterizing, ordering the radioactive seeds as well as the scheduling of the OR. I have assisted with the implant of the seeds in the OR. We also do HDR for lung, endometrial, prostate, breast, and esophageal tumors. I schedule outside studies as well as acquiring authorization for the study. I did phlebotomy, order supplies, sterilized equipment, drove van to pick up patients. I have learned medical manager, lantis, zylomed, intergy mosaic,escribe, excel, and owan. Adjusted to many changes over the last several years. Safety Facility Officer.

I also worked with a gyn oncologist with in our practice. I assisted with biopsies. Fill out FMLA and Disability forms. Triage phone calls for doctor.

March 2010 - 2013 - Bayada Nurses: I worked part time with home patient. He is a traumatic brain injury patient. Administer nebulizer and O2 when appropriate. I cared for his J/G tube. He is fed through pump. Meds are given through G tube. Unable to ambulate or communicate. Can follow some verbal cueing. Good communication is needed with family. I found it to be very gratifying work. He is often very congested requiring suctioning. Occasional seizure.

Oct 1993 - May 94 Medical Center Clinic Gulf Breeze Fl. I floated between two Drs assisting with suturing, sigmoidoscopy, physical exams, apply dressings, scheduled tests, performed venipuncture, gave injections, ect.

July 91 - Nov 92 North West Fl Home Health Care Ft. Walton Beach, Fl. I was scheduler coordinator for a rapidly growing facility. Scheduling approximately 1200 visits per month. I scheduled nursing visits for six full time nurses and 4-6 prn nurses. There were continual updates to the schedule with Dr. appts, lab studies and new admissions. We had weekly team meetings to maintain updates and reports on patient care, resolving ongoing problems. I relayed messages between physicians and nurses.

Aug. 86 - Mar 90 White Wilson Medical Center Ft. Walton Beach, Fl.

My first position was in the staffing pool, which consisted of rotation from one specialist to another. To include OB/GYN, internal medicine, pediatrics, allergy, orthopedics, and immediate care, In two months time I advanced to full time with Dr. Johnt, and Emergency Medicine/Immediate care specialist. Responsibilities included making apppointments, called in RX's, set up and assisted with burns, lacerations, I & D's, venipunctures, splinting limbs, eye injuries, removal of lesions, lavage, ect. Performed ear washings, catherizations.

1985-1986 Health America North Little Rock, AR

I worked here part-time in the fall of '85' eventually into full time. They went out of business in Jan '86'. I worked for several different specialist as it was an HMO. I did venipunctures, xrays, EKG, nebulizers, hearing test, eye test, allergy shots, order supplies, etc.

1981- 1984 Rebsamen Memorial Hospital Jacksonville, AR

I worked in ICU/CCU, ER, stepdown, Medsurg. I occasionally acted as charge nurse on 32 bed med surg floor. I was medication nurse for one year, IV team, taught procedures and tests.
