Main activities and responsibilities

As Production Manager I have in subordination 26 hydroelectric plants located on two major rivers in Romania Olt and Lotru.

The total installed capacity is 1525 MW.

Vidra Lake is head of the waterfall is the second largest in Romania with a volume of 340 million cubic meters.

In these plants work a total of 675 people, mostly in operating activities.

I work directly with 10 heads of departments. In the plants we have Kaplan turbine, Francis and Pelton according to the fall of the arrangement. The largest plant is 510 MW Lotru Ciunget, 809 meters fall gross, 80 cubic meters installed flow.

In the Hidroelectrica I take care of these general activities:

The main attribute tasks:

Summary of Plant

UHE Dorin Pavel is a plant generating electricity from hydro sources with an installed capacity of 643 MW.

It consists of three hydroelectric plants: Lotru - Ciunget-510MW - Malaia-18MW, 115MW Bradisor

Three pumping stations energy of 61.5 MW: 31.5 MW Petrimanu, Jidoaia 21MW, Balindru 9MW.

Seven large dams and the Vidra dam is most important up to 340 million cubic meters.

83 secondary catchments and 186km underground adduction.

Plant Lotru Cinget is the largest hydroelectric plant in the country on interior rivers and has the following equipment components:

- 3 (HA) groups synchronous hydro power vertical to 170MW

- Each HA is composed by the following installations:

- Two spherical valves diameter of 1200 mm, operated with water to the penstock and 80 bar with an automatically controlled oil-pressure to 60 bar. Net head of the plant is 800 meters.

- 6 injectors with nozzle diameter of 223mm which are designed to load or unload the Pelton rotor mechanical power . These injectors are operated via a centralized command and control system consists of proportional servo valves ordered as needed using a device called pressure 60 bar pressure oil group . The pressure in the GUP is realized with two Krall pumps driven by two electric motors of 22KW .

- Turbine bering consists of 12 stainless steel rings, lubrication achieving cooled turbine oil is forced through a water cooling system .

- Electric generator is a 16 -pole rotor synchronous vertical, with a speed of 375 rotation per

minute.

- Excitation is static with two thyristor bridges redundant command to power the rotor excitation current .

- Evacuation of products is achieved through the energies of 190MVA transformer 15.75 KV / 220KV that connects with a cable length of 500mm square and 1300 meters to the 220KV substation .

- 220KV station consists of 7 cells: two exhaust lines, a couple, three arrivals from the three HA, a cell 150MVA autotransformer which power station of 110 KV alongside.

- 110 KV station has 9 cells and feeds the three pumping stations, bringing the energy produced by the other two downstream plants Bradisor and Malaia and provide internal services Lotru Ciunget through two 16 MVA transformers, 110/20/6KV

- Cooling water system of power plant consists of two tanks of 1000 cubic meters and 2000 cubic meters of 3 vertical pumps submersible 250KW each driven by inverter for regulating the flow of cooling water needed hydro and transformers.

-command and control system of the plant is done with PLC SIEMENS S 7-400 connected by a redundant optical fiber network. They have implemented logic operation groups.

Electrical protection system is designed with digital relays Siemens.

The SCADA system is achieved SIEMENS equipment redundant two servers connected by a fiber optic ring.

Plant also owns an air gap monitoring system, vibration and partial discharge.

As a general systems we have : - installation of high pressure compressed air 60 bar and 10 bar low pressure plant consists of two compressors Kaeser.

-0.4 KV for power plant auxiliary consumers

- 220Vcc plant to supply all sensors, transducers and PLCs .

- 250MVA diesel for power plant spare

-all these facilities described were refurbishment under my leadership during 2007 -2011 by the company Voith Siemens Austria

Main responsibilities are:

- Preparing, tracking and reception of the annual plan maintenance works

- Preparation and implementation of annual plan tracking electricity production

- Checking the technical and economic documentation for the works of maintenance

- Training and testing technical knowledge of subordinate staff (190 people)
