Project: PINACLE

Role: Mainframe Developer

•Pinacle is a suite of applications which helps PNC Corporate Customers manage their investments and provides various reports to investment managers for providing insights and assisting for making critical business investment decisions.

•The project involves developing and supporting the PINACLE application to ensure proper functioning of the customer business.

•It also includes processing of payments data from various outsourced vendors into Pinacle system.

•Responsible for ensuring correct payments are posted against customer’s account, business total’s tie up against million dollars collected in the bank and handle issues encountered during this process.

•Coordinating and setting up the schedule for all payment batch jobs as per in compliance with the vendor, federal and non-federal holidays.

•Coordinating with various payment vendors to ensure that large amounts of payments are easily processed after holiday/long weekends.

•Generating Easytrieve reports for various business requirements for PNC line of business.

•Working in preparation of estimates for various tasks, assigning to various team members at onsite/offshore, tracking progress and responsible for requirement gathering meetings.

•Analysis & Architecture – Involved in analyzing the existing distributed servers, mainframe jobs for migrating Connect: Direct jobs to PNC EFX platform.

•Identify batch JCLs that transmit files to customers and make changes in them.

•Prepare mainframe test files and transmit them to customers through mainframe test JCLS using overriding principles for testing purposes.

•Connect with Business testers to identify issues on the new platform and ensure necessary action is taken to fix them.

Project: Green Field Bridge Data Center Migration

Role: Mainframe Developer

•The project involved migrating the PINACLE Applications from existing data center of PNC to new data center.

•It involved data migration, CA7 Migration, NDM migration and Disaster recovery activity.

•The project involved extensive impact analysis and configuration changes along with the code changes.

•The challenging project was successfully carried out wherein more than 600 batch jobs were migrated (CA7 Migration) to new data centers in various phases with minimal business impact in production.

•Migrated more than 500 Connect: Direct NDM jobs in phases to send files to new servers located on new data centers.

•Involved in fail-over, fail-back activities for mainframe/distributed data center migrations.

Morgan Stanley, New York, USA. 09/2009-04/2014

Project: Money Movement

Role: Mainframe Developer

•The project involved creation and support of Money Movement Cash flow system, with focus on applications pertaining to issuing various types of money transfers (ACH, Wire, Internal transfers), approvals processes such as OFAC, On Demand reporting for end users.

•As part of this project also developed and maintained batch/online systems, stored procedures for various business processes such as SOD, EOD, database updates, various application reporting programs etc.

•Worked with end-users to assess requirements and create feasible solutions.

•Worked with end-users to generate various On-Demand reports through COBOL-DB2 application programs.

•Analyzed existing JCLs, procedures and their functionality.

•Developed and managed daily transmissions of customer data such as account transfers, cash transfers, checks to business partners, email notifications, alerts etc. through Connect:Direct NDM.

•Identified batch JCLs that connect to server and make changes to them.

•The project involved the bringing in existing customers of Smith Barney on the same platform of Morgan Stanley. There was large data migration involved and multiple systems were impacted.

•The project involved working out the impact analysis and preparing a project plan to carry this data migration with minimal impact to the systems.

•Performed smooth implementation of code deployment to production (Release management).

•Performed Integration and Unit testing of all impacted modules.

•Data migration and other changes were carried out successfully with minimal impact.

•This was very well known large merger project which received numerous accolades for swift implementation.

Project: Check writer & Check History

Role: Mainframe Developer

•Check Writer is a current day issuing and reporting service of Morgan Stanley.

•The Check History reporting service allows you to inquire on the status of checks issued on any reconciled demand deposit account and depending on how your account is setup, you can have 30, 60, or 90 days of history information available with this service.

•The Stop Payments service of check writer allows users to place Stop Payment requests (stops) on checks issued from Morgan Stanley bank for processing locations through CICS interface.

•Involved in all discussions with the business for requirement gathering.

•Created reporting programs which eliminated erroneous and redundant issuance of various types of checks.

•Automated alerts for issues with batch processing so that timely action can be taken by the support team and applied a fix to the JCLs.

•Prepared detailed design document and test cases.

•Built new JCLs, Procs and COBOL modules to create the various reports on MVS for business users regarding check processing.
