Facilities Maintenance Superintendent

-Facilities and Utilities Maintenance Expert. Responsible for management, execution and oversight of all utility, refrigeration, facilities and grounds maintenance for 450,000 ft2 food manufacturing facility

-Direct line manager for MRO, Parts Room, maintenance planning and LEAN development for facility

-Manage diverse work force of technicians, supervisors, logistics specialists and site contractors, 40 member team overall.

Novo Nordisk Pharmaceutical Industries, Inc (Clayton NC) (February 2007-August 2016):

-Reliability Expert. Reduced production downtime due to utility interruptions from over 200 hours per year to less than 20 hours per year, in less than 3 years. Implemented execution system that resulted in 95% on time maintenance performance for over 1500 pieces of equipment, including boilers, HVAC, electrical and purified water systems.

-Master Planning Champion. Developed and implemented site master plan designed to drive realization of complete equipment lifecycle, superior reliability, and mapping of site projects, achieved over 95% facilities uptime while doubling production volume.

-LEAN management professional. Developed site wide standards for systematic problem solving, visual management, maintenance planning and stakeholder communication. Led project to establish Total Productive Maintenance systems across site.

-Seasoned Hiring Manager. Responsible for 25-85 direct reports. Hired 78 employees, from professional engineer to hourly labor, 14 of which progressed from hourly to management. Maintained over 85% retention rate at 48 months after hire. Implemented intern process for industrial technicians, resulting in 4 permanent hires in 2 years.

-Focused Financial Steward. Responsible for budget preparation, approval and management, in excess of $8 million annually. Developed and implemented site wide parts management and logistics system, saved over $2 million in the first year. United States Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (September 1985 – February 2007):

-Operations and Project Manager. Coordinated and managed combined military and civilian work teams, several in excess of 100 craftsmen, with budgets in excess of $6 million. Supervised, scheduled and coordinated completion of dozens of complex maintenance projects on submarines and aircraft carriers. Completed all projects on or ahead of schedule and under budget.

-Technical Trade Supervisor. Coordinated efforts of multiple trades and operators for all aspects of maintenance and operations for nuclear propulsion plants on ships. As Duty Section Leader, managed a routine duty section of 85 sailors through six month shipyard maintenance period. Managed 260 person execution team for last five weeks of maintenance period to meet ship delivery deadline on time. Reactor Department Casualty Leader directed department wide (450 personnel) response to all shipboard casulaties, setting fleet wide standards for performance and process that are still in use today.

-Process Development Expert. Member of initial manning crew for 2 Nimitz class aircraft carriers. Designed, developed and implemented maintenance and operation system for both commands. Responsible for systems that included over 1500 maintenance requirements and over 25,000 man hours of work per year. Recognized fleet expert on maintenance planning and execution.
