HydraForce, Inc. (Lincolnshire, IL) Feb. 1998 to April 2017

IT Director:

-Managing a team of 10 IT professionals responsible for all corporate systems, including applications, data center, servers and storage, PCs, VOIP, and Videoconferencing, for 1500+ employees worldwide in manufacturing facilities located in the US, UK, China, and Brazil.

-Manage IT infrastructure including Network LAN, WAN, MPLS Data Network, Data Centers, Disaster Recovery facilities, ERP & EDI applications, telecommunications, various third party applications including CRM, Internal reporting, database management and IT help desk.

-Manage all IT vendor relationships, Negotiate related contracts and create annual IT business plan and budget reflective of corporate and business unit initiatives.

-Provide strategic technology direction and spearhead advanced technology initiatives

-Designed and implemented entire Active Directory and security infrastructure from an antiquated NT Domain.

-Managed, planned and implemented onboarding of a UK based manufacturing company, integrating and migrating their existing infrastructure. Migrating their mainframe manufacturing system to a new ERP system.

-Planned, managed new China manufacturing facility. Worked with local vendors to design and install point to point MPLS circuit, VOIP phone system, complete site cabling, wireless, PC’s, printer’s, phones, and implementation of new ERP and barcode system. Project completed and site online and functioning 3 months ahead of schedule.

-Planned, managed, and implemented infrastructure move and upgrades for our UK facility to its new 120,000 square foot facility. Successfully upgraded infrastructure, MPLS, wireless, cabling, PC’s, printers, and phones with only 4 days of downtime during the physical move.

-Planned and managed physical-to-virtual server migration along with an Active-Active DRaaS solution, retired over 40 servers and saved over $200k in annual operating expenses and licensing.

PolyScience Corp. (Niles, IL) Aug. 1989 to Feb. 1998

Position: Promoted to and held various positions

Production/Facilities Manager:

Responsible for day-to-day operations of all production departments. Shipping, receiving, sheet metal fabrication, refrigeration, electronics, and testing. I was responsible for capital appropriations, all equipment and tooling purchases, fixture creation, and repair and maintenance of the same.

Engineering Manager:

Responsible for the engineering department that consisted of 2 Mechanical Engineers, 2 Electrical engineers, 1 Refrigeration Engineer, 1 Manufacturing Engineer, and 3 Cad Draftsman.

Responsible for all products and all new designs from conception through completion, including documentation CNC programming and CSA & TUV approvals.

Mechanical Design Engineer:

Responsible for the design and implementation of new products from concept to production. CNC programming of turret punch presses, press brakes, welding. CNC Plasma cutter and refrigeration systems. Use of AutoCAD, CadKey, Metalsoft CAD/CAM

IT Manager:

I was responsible for the installation and implementation of the first PC network and ERP systems at PolyScience, which included all computers and software. Among the software and systems installed were Novell, Cadkey, Metalsoft CAD/CAM, Applicon Bravo CAD/CAM, Dbase, Lotus, Windows, Excel, and ERP. I was also responsible for all of the day-to-day tasks and maintenance. Nightly tape backups.

The implementation of a PC network and ERP system reduced manufacturing lead times from 8 weeks to 2 weeks over a period of 8 months, and reduced on hand inventory by as much as $350,000.

Converted all blueprints to cad drawings and eliminated all hand drawn blueprints, and implemented computer aided paperless manufacturing. Blue prints were viewed via PC, no blueprints in production.
