Norfolk Southern, Mechanical Supervisor, Birmingham, AL July 2016 – April 2017

Directed group of 30 craftsmen composed of machinists, electricians, carmen, and laborers in a locomotive and car shop in order to fix and release an average of 4 locomotives and 10 cars per shift.

Maintained the operation of the yard so the inbounding and out bounding of trains ran efficiently. Communicated with colleagues and Supervisory Gang Leader to be abreast on situations in the yard.

Conducted daily meetings which included safety details, job assignments, and various announcements. Held constant line of communication between upper management, trainmaster, dispatch, and craftsmen.

Composed a plan to efficiently fix and release locomotives, constantly problem solved throughout shift, gave turnovers on all actions completed and required, and presented this information to upper management.

NASA, Boeing Design Visual Labs Engineer Intern, Kennedy Space Center, FL May 2015 – August 2015

Provided equipment solutions to customers by analyzing 3-D simulations of ground support equipment (GSE) models. Created and analyzed models in CATIA/Delmia from data points gathered from scans scanned by high performance scanners (TX-8, Surphaser, Trimble FX).

Improved the functionality of a scanner tripod by implementing design improvements using 3-D printed parts. Designed attachments for a sensor to allow it to be adaptable with various tripods using 3-D printed parts.

Applied the physics of rocketry to successfully build and launch a 4 foot model rocket with a G sized motor.

NASA, Design Engineer Intern, Kennedy Space Center, FL May 2014 – August 2014

Project managed the development of a technical solution for attaching and detaching the crew module hatch on the Space Launch System (SLS) by utilizing the KDP Streamlined Design Process. Verified the solution by building and testing the prototype designed in Pro/E. Presented the technical design aspects of the solution, design analysis, and prototype to management.

oThe design process included a bill of materials, cost estimate chart, Gantt chart, concept of operations report, design analysis, and a final tangible product.
