As the Project Scrum Manager I was responsible for the overall development of the Blockworks Tax Software for all the H&R Block offices across the country. I oversaw 30 developers and 6 managers in multiple locations. I was responsible for running agile scrum meetings daily with my teams and fostering an environment where team members recognized and valued the importance of our team success. I was responsible for facilitating backlog grooming, sprint planning sessions, retrospectives and sprint reviews. I worked hand in hand with our Product Team and QA Teams to ensure enhancements to the software were completed and tested on time. I work with the IRS and the individual State Departments of Revenue to ensure all federal & state tax law changes are ready for the upcoming tax year. I help determine gaps in our processes and implement process changes to ensure software readiness by the opening of tax season. I help determine candidates for management and development positions. I work with our training team to ensure our developers are getting the training they need to stay up to date in their coding.
As a Key Account Manager, I was responsible for the results of 12 key accounts for the upcoming tax year with revenues reaching close to $10 million. I ensured client readiness for each tax season. I oversaw the project development process from initial planning, programming, training, start up and project completion. I managed key accounts in multiple locations. I worked hand in hand with our Regulatory, IT, EF and Call Center support to ensure client satisfaction was being met. I documented, tracked and communicated our plan, results, analysis and unresolved problems. Communicated product/project guidelines and other information effectively to the Product Management Team. I conducted training for Private Labels, coordinated CD releases, including sign-off and helping in requirements. Ensured that all specifications of our contract are met for the customer’s products.
