Production Planning Procurement and Control Manger

The team in Reno develops manufactures, builds and delivers CNC cutting tables, plasma cutting systems, tube and pipe profilers and pipe cutting and beveling machines. The Torchmate® cutting table brand and Vernon Tool® pipe cutting systems with Lincoln Electric plasma cutting power sources offer the most complete, highest quality cut, precision, repeatable and consistent results. .

Interpret finished product, WIP, parts/accessory schedules for delivery reliability. Identify production constraints through the use of SAP. Direct planners and supply management in the resolution of issues. Reduced overall spend by over $100,000. Worked with production supervision to identify and plan resource requirements (top level capacity planning) and improve upon the production efficiencies to reduce lead times from 3.21 days to 2.0 days Communicate extensively within the division and with other functional areas of the company to maintain alignment of customer service and manufacturing objectives. Increased OTD from <80% to >95%. Manage new product introduction and product rationalization with cross functional teams. Lead inventory reduction efforts: Reduced Inventory dollars by over 2.0 mil. In less than 9 months. Review and publish monthly excess inventory (e&o) statistics and implement procedures to reduce inventory levels and timely disposition of materials. Accountability of Manufacturing Instruments for life science applications, and pharmaceutical industries globally. Lead the Bio-Therapeutics product line, which relocated from our UK facility to Sunnyvale. Executed growth of BT product line 22%, in 20 months, worldwide in a single growth market. (4% ave). Increased OTD to 98% (8% gains) and increased OB Quality at 95% (15 months consecutive with zero OBQ’s). Controlled over 3200 purchased components, utilizing a "POU" system. This system has reduced total component inventory, by over 1.3 million dollars. Utilizing TPS/DBS. Kaizen activities, which enabled us to increased production output by over 40% with a reduction of PPM levels by over 50%, without increasing production dept. headcount. Implemented a standard work job tasking and one up one down employee training program. Utilized a visual management system (SQDIP) which allowed the TEAM to know exactly what is happening within the entire work group. Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity.

EHS, overall success in our second year of receiving a Zero Notice of Violations. Included activities that increased our FM Global score which reduced our facilities insurance cost.
