Job requirements were daily checks of layouts, fitups, and assemblies, weld procedure compliance as well as maintain welder qualifications. Tracked all material from reception to final inspection through the use of Material Test Reports (MTR) and heat/ lot numbers, providing a complete set of Quality records for customer at final inspection. Conducted all operational/ cleanliness tests, to include pump alignments, setup of system set points and component set point verification. Coordinated customer inspection process, and when required in shop repair of vendor components. Some of the major customers were: Dresser-Rand, Praxair, GE Power, Neumann & Esser, and Hitachi-Zosen.

Twenty-one year career as a machinist mate operating, troubleshooting, and repairing surface ship, and submarine main / auxiliary propulsion systems, and all mechanical systems.
Throughout my career I have been responsible for the operation, trouble shooting, and repair, and testing of the following systems: steam driven fire pumps, fuel / lube oil pumps boiler feed pumps (single and multiple stages). Overhauled high-pressure steam valves, High-pressure hydraulics (up to #3000 PSI) to include rotary screw pumps, stored energy accumulators, electro-hydraulic valves, controls and operators. Ventilation systems, refrigeration systems (hold universal EPA cert.). High and low pressure air compressors, dryers, air operated components, reducers and valves. And the ships emergency Diesel engine. I have been a Division Supervisor for twelve years and team leader for eighteen years, including nine years as a Quality Control Inspector / Supervisor.
