Production/Project Manager – Defence (New Product Development) Group

Role and Responsibilities-

Planning, coordinating, and executing production activities of Passenger and Commercial vehicles like Mine Protected vehicles, Light specialist vehicle, Xenon and Wheeled Armored platform vehicles etc.

Work in close co - ordination with Engineering research Centre, APL, Materials, Quality and outdoor testing team for resolving vehicle assembly and testing related issues and implement engineering changes in vehicles.

Monitor and control of SQPDCME issues by attending/ investigating the issue / incident /downtimes, supporting TLs with resources, material and technical help. Providing Support from Service agencies and escalate issues to leadership for additional support.

Process and productivity improvements, tools and equipment’s implementation through Low cost automation, material inventory management and cost reduction drive.

Planning of Diesel and Petrol engine assembly and testing as per schedule and monitoring of dispatch to concern agency.

Responsible for find out root cause analysis of final PDI and vehicle audit repetitive defects and to take an immediate and permanent action.

Role and Responsibilities:-

Planning and executing of production planning and control plan of Nano petrol engine assembly and testing as per schedule.

Setting up the nano engine assembly line from 60 to 100 engine per shift to reduce the tact time by line balancing and introducing poka yoke and kaizens.

Responsible for taking preventive actions for repetitive defects at engine assembly PDI at Internal customer end and to maintain the traceability of engine.

Monitoring of process and product quality and process rework/rejection analysis by using 7QC tools and seven type waste.

Attaining manpower reduction through line balancing, process improvements, adding sub-assemblies and special tooling etc.

Maintaining Tata motors operating system on shop floor by taking corrective action on issues and implementation of safety work procedures.
