Interval is a publicly traded company owning several companies: Interval International, a timeshare exchange network and several property management companies (for hotels, condos, resorts, and timeshare resorts), and a collection agency (Hyatt Vacation Ownership, Vistana Signature Experience (Starwood Vacation Ownership), Aqua-Aston Hospitality, Trading Places International, Vacation Resorts International, Vacation Resorts International – Europe, and Meridian Financial Services). Operations in more than 80 countries, more than 12,000 employees (union and non union with over 14,000 people under our management), and more than $1 billion in revenue.

Contributed to company transformation to identify and complete several acquisitions. Member of Merger and Acquisition (M&A) team. Planned and implemented acquisition and integration strategies. Led worldwide team of 57 HR professionals, with responsibility for HR and training (operational, sales, leadership, employee development). Led award-winning employee development program, which was recognized nationally for advances in eLearning and developing employees for advancement. Consolidated company’s four training departments into one. Developed training metrics and analytics, increasing average sales for call center advisors by 50%. Implemented a global HRMS (PeopleSoft 9.0 & 9.2) with multiple modules, languages, and currencies. Developed digital-media storage platform for employee documents and records. Managed equity plans (restricted and performance-based stock units). Serve as international employee grievance appeals hearing officer. Negotiated several CBAs domestically and internationally.

While Interval was owned by IAC, served on five-person technology team that was tasked with identifying a global HRMS for all 60-plus IAC businesses. Worked on many special projects, including employee development, performance management, 360s, job analysis, and position descriptions.

PRC, Inc. (owned by IAC), Plantation, Florida

Senior Vice President, People, and Member of the Executive Team 2005-2006

PRC was a 14,000 person global outsourcing firm with revenues of about $400 million. Serving clients like American Express, Direct TV, AARP, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, US Airlines, British Airlines, Ford, Sirius, plus many more; services provided included business-to-business, business-to-consumer, and back office functions.

Held responsibility for turning around this global outsourcing business. Grew top and bottom line of business and integrated three brands owned by PRC into one company. Responsible for HR and training, leading a team of 150 HR, Talent Acquisition, and Professional Development professionals. Hired average of 386 new employees each week. Established metrics, reporting, and analysis, as well as built HR team to support business and plan for growth. Opened ten new call centers internationally and domestically. Reduced total company turnover from 300% to 80%, primarily by focusing on identification and development of frontline supervisors. Upgraded Oracle HCM system, including multiple modules. As a result of the successful turnaround, IAC sold PRC and transferred me to Interval.

The Orvis Company, Manchester, Vermont

Vice President, HR, Strategic Planning, Office Services, and Facilities; Member of the Executive Committee 2001-2005

Founded in 1856, Orvis is a family owned well-respected and honored global wholesaler, reseller, and manufacturing company for men and women’s apparel, footwear and sporting equipment. With revenues of $350 million, customer channels included retail, Internet, catalog, and more than 900 dealer stores and fishing shops. Orvis also owned several manufacturing companies (Orvis Fly Fishing Reels, British Fly Wheel, Reddington Reels, Gokey Boots & Shoes (made by hand in the US), and ExOfficio travel adventure clothing), shooting, fishing, dog obedience schools, nature preserves (hunting lodges with fishing and shooting services), and partnered with brands for licensed products (cars, log cabins, furniture).

Led HR, strategy, office services, and facilities team, comprised of 14 staff members in global locations. Held responsibility for development and implementation of company’s strategic plan. Supported operations in over 70 countries, including moving manufacturing factories, equipment, and labor from UK to China, directing several direct reports in other countries, and conducting extensive M&A activities. Identified and developed best talent for retail operations, as well as upgraded talent for corporate positions while aligning people and positions to support the strategic plan. Created formal succession-planning programs as models for career and leadership development. Reduced legal liability through visible, proactive practices that resulted in zero EEO and harassment claims. Decreased workers’ compensation costs by 60% through development and implementation of safety program and post-accident and incident drug-testing procedures.

First Worthing, Dallas, Texas

Vice President, Human Resources, and Member of the Executive Committee 1998-2001

FirstWorthing was a family owned, $250 million, 600 person vertically integrated real estate firm serving the multi-family and student housing markets. Diversification services included developing, constructing, turning-around, upgrading, and managing properties in mid-income markets.

Selected to turn around business to a support-achievement organization. Changed culture of company in one year, with goal of liquidity event achieved at two years. Positioned the organization for significant expansion, created unified teams, and changed company culture from traditional top-down to achievement-oriented support team. Implemented diversity action plans and school-to-work initiatives. Reduced legal liability through visible, proactive practices that resulted in zero EEO and harassment claims. Developed and managed short- and long-term incentive programs.

Gables Residential Trust, Irving, Texas

Vice President, Human Resources 1995-1998

Gables was a publicly traded, top tier brand with revenues of $1.8 billion and 1,800 employees serving the AAA class property management industry. Developed, built, and managed upper income properties and were awarded the Disney contracts for Celebration. Considered the best of the best in the multi-family markets, often recognized with industry awards.

Repositioned administrative HR group into strategic, proactive, efficient support team. Recognized by chief executive officer at 1997 annual meeting for exceptional contributions to company. Reduced employee turnover from 65% to 36% in one-year period by developing and implementing retention and recruiting strategies, including a team-based hiring achiever program and a bilingual interviewing and mentoring program for new hires. Created and presented numerous training programs (orientation video/program, sexual harassment-prevention, diversity, as well as numerous management and technical training programs for all levels of associates).

Channel Home Centers, Inc., Whippany, New Jersey, Director of Human Resources, 1988-1989. Channel was employee owned (LBO) and had 185 retail stores in 33 states with about 20,000 employees. Held responsibility for all HR activities. Managed team of 12 field HR managers and 15 corporate professionals. Negotiated and managed union contracts. Represented company in EEO and harassment claims.

Caldor Department Stores, Inc., Norwalk, Connecticut, District Human Resources Manager, 1986-1988. Caldor was owned by The May Corporation. Led largest district in company of ten high-volume stores, including the top seven stores with revenues in excess of $250 million. Directed district with up to 4,200 employees and team of ten HR managers and one administrative assistant. Negotiated and managed union contracts.

Richman Gordman Department Stores, Inc., Omaha, Nebraska, Store & Operations Management, 1978-1986. RG was one of the original discount department stores and was family owned.
