Project:1. Quick Test Professional (QTP) Aided Automaton Testing

Environment: Quick Test professional (10), Oracle E Business Suite (11i), Excel, Toad,

Project for: Cummins Light Duty Diesel Unit (LDD), USA.

Description: The purpose of this project is to bring the said Cummins’ entity Oracle Instance to the required standard; wherein Oracle is in a position to support it post-patch application in 11i. Role includes developing test scripts for Oracle seeded test cases, identified by LDD. This involves detailed documentation of seeded test cases, identified by LDD and recording, scripting and playback of the same on the pre-patched instance (copy of the development instance used by LDD) using test data provided by LDD end users with the aid of QTP. The same sets of cases are then played back on the patched instance and variations (If any) are noted. Exception handling, log file documentation. Ultimately, the behavior of the patched instance should be similar to the pre patched one. The criticality of the project lies in understanding the business processes used by LDD and rigorous testing of the seeded test cases to the extent that the client is satisfied.

Contribution as a Functional Consultant/Business Analyst, responsibility includes the following:

Identifying Oracle seeded flows used by LDD for Order Management, Purchase Order, Inventory, Bill Of Materials, Work In Progress, Materials Planning

Recording additional test scripts (other than the ones already scripted) using QTP on test instance (copy of production instance)

Validating the scripts with LDD functional users on pre-patched instance-modifying them if required.

Post patches validation with LDD functional users on patched instance.

Thorough retesting on another patched instance and noting behavioral changes, if any.
