Mini Project (Nov-2014 to Mar-2015)

Title: Pneumatic Parallel Hacksaw

Description:

The Objective of our Project is to design a Hacksaw blade which is able to cut multiple pieces in the same working time. For that we designed a machine which is able to hold multiple parallel blades.

The design of our machines was done by Creo parametric software and we done a simulation using Solid works software.

Major Project (Nov-2015 to Feb-2016):

Title: Design and Analysis of Jet Sliding Mechanism in Cam Washing Machine Description:

The Project was carried out in Ashok Leyland, Chennai. The objective of our project was to eliminate the major problems faced by the cam washing machine which majorly affected the Production rate.

The problems were breakdown of the Lance jet due to sudden impact loads on the Ball lead screw during reverse motion, Motor coil burned while running in different phase other than three phase. To avoid these problems, we replaced the Ball lead screw by the Pneumatic actuators. Our project involved field study, data collection and brainstorming to carryout Root Cause Analysis, for finding the best solution. Software Used: ‘Creo Parametric’ was used for modelling whereas ‘Ansys’ was used for the Analysis Purpose.

WORKSHOPS ATTENDED:

Attended a workshop named “AUTO ANATOMY” conducted in association with

‘Mahindra, Renault, Nissan, Wabco-TVS and Ashok Leyland’ held in College of Engineering Guindy, Chennai.
