This position involved traveling to taxpayer and/or the taxpayer’s representatives offices. This position included traveling throughout southeastern Wisconsin counties of Kenosha and Racine. In addition, field audits were conducted in northeastern Illinois when records were maintained in office site locations.

Sales/Use Tax (1989 to present) The Wisconsin Department of Revenue has taken a more specialized approach. Since 2015, I have been specifically as a sales/use tax auditor. These reviews include:

oConsulting / education of taxpayer’s regarding Wisconsin sales/use tax law
oExamination of Wisconsin sales/use tax exemption certificates
oOrganize, plan, audit and finalize the field audit to completion (tax assessment, refund and/or no-change determinations)
Individual income tax (through 2015)
oReviewed Wisconsin individual income tax returns (1990 through 2015)
oWisconsin individual income tax law uses Federal IRS code as the basis (with statutory differences only)
Corporate Franchise Tax (1989 to present) I am currently finalizing field audits in this tax area. My current position is within the sales/use tax section.

During the time frame 1990 through 2008, I was the senior audit person in the Kenosha Branch
Office. During those years, in addition to field audits, I was responsible for providing taxpayer assistance throughout the year. During the tax filing season (January through April), additional assistance was provided to disabled and elderly people filing Wisconsin Homestead Credit forms. Taxpayer assistance consisted of assisting individuals and businesses in getting registered for Wisconsin sales/use and withholding taxes. The Kenosha Branch Office was closed in 2008 due to budgetary issues.
