Mechanical Design Engineer – Performing design support for CH-53K King Stallion heavy lift cargo helicopter for United States Marines testing and certification program. Designing and modifying primary structures to incorporate flight test instrumention for loads pallets for both internal cargo and troop carrying missions. Incorporated modifications to titanium frames and composite bulkheads for external heavy lift cabling and winching systems. Utilizing CATIA V5 for 3-D for concept and design and 2-D for drawings and installation plans and instructions, and SAP for Bills of Materials.

GULFSTREAM AEROSPACE, Savannah, GA, Aug 2015 to Nov 2015

Mechanical Design Engineer – Concept and design of static and fatigue test fixtures for primary structures of G500 and G550 business aircraft. Projects include Composite Aft Engine Beam and Aft Upper and Lower Composite Bulkhead test fixtures. Designed Wing Tip with Winglet box for static test fixture. Designed 2 Point (Wing) Roll test fixture for complete test aircraft in floor mounted welded/bolted steel structure incorporating numerous Wiffle Trees. HONDAJET, Greensboro, NC, June 2014 to July 2015

Mechanical Design Engineer – Performing the incorporation of Engineering Revisions for the HA-420 HondaJet aircraft ECS, Fuel, and Powerplant systems. Responsible for creating Modification (MOD) Routers including MBOM’s (Manufacturing Bill of Material) which include complete work instructions for Production Floor Technicians. Duties include MRB review and approval Engineering CR’s (Change Requests) ensuring manufacturability of parts, assemblies and installations. Additional tasked to ECS systems for Wing Anti-Ice, Bleed Air, Cabin and Cockpit Oxygen, A/C, Ducting, and Water & Waste Systems to revise Master Routers for all new Engineering changes. Attended daily CCB (Change Control Board) reviews for manufacturability and producibility. Mechanical Design Engineer – Performed investigation and resolution of manufacturing issues for Boeing 747-8 Horizontal Stabilizer build center. Work coordinated with MRB group to create predispositions then submitted to expedited disposition process. Tasks included resolution of skin to stringer mill-pad and fastener drilling mis-locations including detailed 3-D Clash and Clearance studies. Provided corrective action documentation for skins, hinge ribs, actuator ribs, and rib chords. Created and modified production tooling and drilling templates including shop aids and drilling guides for skin fastener locations. Created numerous CATIA V5 3-D models and assemblies from Boeing 2-D drawings and 3-D models. Utilized CATIA and SAP for planning and inventory investigations of outdated, superseded, and obsolete parts & assemblies.

Tasks included MRB support to resolve recurring and repetitive line issues. Investigated and resolved integration and assembly issues for build team mechanics. Provided corrective action resolutions (ARF), modified work instructions (SOI), and parts lists (MBOM). Performed Clash and Clearance analysis to resolve part interferences and assembly drilling and machining errors. Previously assigned to MARM Group for the creation and maintenance of sub-assembly and detail part documentation provided to supplier partners. Graduated Boeing ME Academy Training. Mechanical Design Engineer – Provided Engineering Liaison support, integration and design support for primary structures, hydraulics, Environmental Control Systems (ECS) of new Learjet 85 all-composite business jet. Interfaced with on-site vendors to coordinate design and manufacturing plans. Projects included fuselage and fairing frames, longerons, gussets, brackets and clips. Designed fairing access doors and hinges. Responsible for design of mounting brackets, tie-rods, and attachment hardware for ECS, fuel inerting, bleed air, anti-ice, and fire suppression systems and components. Attended daily team meetings.
