MANUFACTURING MANAGER

Productivity Improvement / Cost Analysis & Control / Project Management / Procurement

CAD / CAM / Contract and Vendor Negotiations / CPI / ISO 9000 / ASO 9100 / RFP / ERP

I possess an established and consistent record of reducing costs and increasing sales and profits in industrial and high tech manufacturing settings. My skills in implementing advanced technologies and training cross-functional teams to perform at peak levels have enabled companies to boost productivity and on-time deliveries. My skills include:

Developing and improving manufacturing processes to increase ROI

Assembling, leading and mentoring teams to execute projects on time and within budget

Providing competitive cost analysis for new and existing products to improve profits

Negotiating with vendors to achieve short- and long-term procurement objectives

Ensuring clarity and completeness of design requirements

Over 25 years 3D CAD design including assemblies and kinematics

Colleagues and employers alike will describe me as a hands-on professional who analyzes situations rapidly and achieves ambitious goals quickly. Outgoing and approachable, I enable teams to clearly see the objectives laid out for them, as well as the best path to achieve those goals.

My career has a strong theoretical foundation, as I am certified as an ISO Inspector and hold degrees in both CAD and CAM, both earned with Highest Honors.

Selected Accomplishments

Added new process to boost revenue. Hired to enable EWT to explore new markets and create additional revenue streams. Selected equipment and designed tools to add mold and die making to shop processes. Created processes and educated staff on usage. Broke sales records for six consecutive months, increasing sales 25% annually.

Increased efficiencies of existing space. Increasing sales at EWT required addition of workers and equipment to existing space. Redesigned plant layout, retired older equipment, and researched/selected new machining technologies. Added 10% more workers, increasing production 20% without adding floor space.

Boosted on-time delivery. Upon hire at EWT, determined that inefficient processes caused inaccurate scheduling and missed deadlines. Evaluated ordering/tracking methods. Consolidated suppliers. Established internal job processes. Executed ISO practices to verify material receiving. Improved on-time delivery 10% and cut costs 10%.

Implemented in-house designing. Metz’s outsourced designers failed to take into account manufacturability, leading to costly and time-consuming design changes on shop floor. Introduced and implemented in-house, CAD-produced molds and dies, saving 50% in manufacturing time and costs, passing along savings to customers, and increasing profits 25%.

Enhanced productivity. Metz had no CNC machine programmers, requiring machinists to program own work and not focus on more productive tasks. Consolidated languages into one CAM program. Hired/trained lower-cost workers to run machines, and determined additional uses for machines. Improved process efficiency/productivity.
