On the job training in the Overseas Sub-station Engineering Department at MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC CORPORATION, ITAMI WORKS, JAPAN as Project Engineer. The job involved Design and co- ordination of 230/66KV GAS INSULATED SUBSTATION to be supplied & commissioned at M/s. PUBLIC UTILITY BOARD, SINGAPORE.

Jan'92 :

Six days professional training conducted by M/s. Eicher Consultancy Services, Delhi, for 'TQM TRAINERS'.

July '94 :

Two Weeks training on the assembly, testing and usage of 11KV RING MAIN UNITS at W LUCY & CO. OXFORD, UK.

Indigenously developed full range of Indoor and Outdoor 11kV Vacuum Circuit Breaker and launched in the market. These are presently prime products of the company.

Mergers, Collaboration and & Acquisition Exposure:

2011: Successfully concluded JV (Joint Venture) with ZIV, Spain based Substation protection and Automation Company. This company was later acquired by CG in 2013

2010: Integrated Operations of MSE Power USA, with CG for EPC work in electrical HV substation domain. This company is now CG Power Solutions Inc USA.

2007: Conducted technical due diligence for acquisition of Microsol, an Ireland based substation automation company and later supported for launch of its product in Indian market. This company was later acquired by CG in 2007.

1995: Identified potential partner for Ring Main Unit (Oil and SF6 Gas) and successfully transferred technology from W Lucy & Co. UK.

Details of Experience:

Mar 2015 till date: Vice President – Operations

Responsible for operations of Large Power transformer manufacturing factories at Pocatello, ID and Rincon Georgia.

July 2013 to Mar 2015:

General Manager (CEO) of CG Power Systems Canada Inc, a large power transformer manufacturing company based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Responsible for P&L account and special assignment of turning it in to profitable and perpetual organization. In one year of operations I have been successful in turning the corner and getting to break even operations. Under my leadership focus and direction is provided towards achieving well defined targets. I have also carried out manpower rationalization and eliminated 20% positions in both direct and indirect labor. I have also concluded Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Union.

Jan 2010 to June 2013

As Executive Vice President at CG Power Solutions USA Inc, I was responsible for integration of operations with the parent company for the first year of my tenure. Later I was responsible for executing 45MW Wind Power project in Idaho, USA. This prestigious $90M project was successfully completed within stipulated time with profits in access of budget.

I was also responsible for initiating Solar Power Substation business for CG on a global level. Successfully completed two Solar Substation EPC projects and Engineering of one large 27MW Solar Plant in California.

September 2006 to Dec 2009

Headed Engineering Projects Division, EPC business unit of CROMPTON GREAVES Ltd. As General Manager responsible for P&L account. This division was engaged in EPC of electrical HV Substations up to 400kV. Under my leader ship this division grew two folds in short period of three years and was successfully steered to new plat form of 765kV Substations.

April 2005 to July 2006

Deputy General Manager – Engineering Projects at Head Office in Gurgaon. Responsible for Revenue, profit and growth of the division. Heading Marketing, Engineering, procurement and Project management.

April 2004 to March 2005

Dy. General Manager – Northern Region for Engineering Projects. I was responsible for execution of 400/220kV switchyard projects in Northern Region. I was also coordinating all Switchyard project orders from PGCIL.

Working as Chief Engineer and All India Marketing Manager heading Marketing and Design department of Medium voltage Switchgear division at Nasik.

(e) Jan '93 to March 2001

Headed the Design Engineering Department of the Medium voltage Switchgear and was responsible for:--

Customization of designs of BOCB, Indoor/Outdoor VCB, SF6 gas filled capacitor switch, Ring main units and MV instrument transformers.

I was In-charge of Design engineering section of 12KV VCB & BOCB was responsible for Development, customer support & application engineering. The job involved various activities such as:-

Preparation and issue all the Design information to production department and co-ordination with planning department.

Having technical discussion with customers on application engineering and circuit breaker Design both before & after the placement of order.

Conducting technical seminars for various customers including large electricity boards & major consultants at various places in India.

Developing new & special features for circuit breakers & panels. viz.

- Outdoor Kiosk type VCB Panel

- Double Busbar type VCB Panel

The development work included Design, procurement of components and testing at R & D, CPRI Bhopal.

Conducting three days training on TQM awareness for staff & officers.

(g) Aug.'85 to Jan.'89 :

I was responsible for productionising of 12KV-500MVA indoor vacuum circuit breakers developed indigenously by us. I was also required to make new Design of panels as per the requirement of various customers and get them type tested at CPRI, Bhopal and at Central Research & Development Laboratory at Crompton Greaves.

(h) Aug.'84 to Aug.'85 :

On deputation at M/S. Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Japan & was working as Project Engineer in their Overseas Substation Engineering Department.

(i) July'82 to Aug'84:

Indigenously designed and developed, 12 kV Vacuum Circuit Breaker along with panel. The development team consisted of one Chief Engineer to guide and two Jr. Engineers along with me. This development work was completed within a record time of one and half years for ratings upto 12KV 500MVA. This Switchgear was then successfully tested by us at Central Power Research Institute, Bhopal (Govt. of India Enterprise) and is now one of the prime products of the company.
